Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Also, Steph, that's honestly why I rarely volunteer to help anymore.

Hey, I'm a giver.

Honestly, I feel like a death is a situation where I can lend a hand, when in other situations I'd be more disinclined. And I think if I hadn't just had a stressful week with my brother,* this all wouldn't be so annoying.

*I have been absolutely exhausted, like marrow sucked from my bones exhausted, since I got back from Colorado. It's ridiculous. I feel like a consumptive heroine from a classic novel. The weird part is how I was basically fine and had a normal energy level in Colorado. But back home, it's like someone removed my batteries.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Nothing in particular planned for the weekend here.

brillig

Today I have: taken a load to the metal recycler, bought two pair of summer sandals at the Skechers factory store, bought some smell-good-stuff at Pier 1, and picked up some drain covers for the kitchen at the hardware store. The most grueling part of it was the shoe shopping. Find a style I like, try to guess at what size they use matches my feet--it changes depending on the style--and try on four pair in differing sizes to try to balance not falling off my heel and not crowding my toes. I adore their trainers/sneakers/running shoes or whatever that type of shoe is called now, but their other shoes are being problematic. I found a pair of sandals that fit and bought two pair. I am ready for summer.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That's how it always goes for me - my adrenaline goes up or just the fact that I have to do whatever keeps me going fine through the stressful stuff but as soon as I let my breath out and start to relax, boom. Usually I get sick.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Nice! A lot of the bungalows around here are 1.5-2 story, so I made assumptions. The ones at the link are nice. I'd want a larger kitchen and a second bedroom, but floors, windows, and other details are lovely.

Yeah, the name makes it easy to confuse the two, but bungalows and bungalow courts are different (but related!) things. There were a handful of bungalow courts that were 1.5 stories, but the bulk of them were not.

They are, sadly, exactly the type of affordable housing that's zoned for bigger things and thus goes away in the boom times.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

No word from the job people. So much for them getting back to him by Friday.

Bummer, Dana. I hope you hear soon, and good news!

OK, Oprah, I'm eating bread! Jeesh.

Boo! That sucks, Dana. Especially since now it's the weekend. :(

Our jobs haven't been posted yet. But I'll work on the damned resume this weekend anyway.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

How annoying, Dana!
