Mal: Okay. She won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she is solid. Ship like this, be with ya 'til the day you die. Zoe: 'Cause it's a deathtrap.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry, Gud. I hope you (and the people around you) can make peace with your non-infallibility.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I'd also say that for me, worrying about making a mistake often leads to making a mistake. It's an ugly self-fulfilling cycle.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

To put it bluntly Gud, the only mistake I think you're making is putting up with all this shit from your wife. She needs to pack up all her unreasonable disapproval of and anger at you and seek professional psychiatric help.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

What Matt said. What she is doing is causing you harm, and cannot be good for her, either.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Matt's right. This sounds like abusive behavior on her part, not a mistake on your part.

Did she leave a message that said more than "Call me"? Did she leave a message at all? If there was no message or text, then the threat level goes way down.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm not married, but that sounds really unrealistic. I AM a manager, and expect my staff not to take personal calls in meetings unless their baby is in surgery or similar.

Coding and Sleeping

No, no message.

I called back again and things were much better. I think she was just really upset at our daughter and I my not answering the phone just made things blow up. So maybe just my overreaction.

One of my co-worker's kids frequently calls her at work. I hear her say "Honey, you know I'm at work, you can't keep calling me. You know you're not allowed to watch TV until your homework is done, Grandma is right. I have to go. Crying's not going to help."

I've never regretted not having kids. I'm glad much more capable Buffistas have taken up the challenge.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Someone is texting me, in Spanish, about coming to pick up the hamsters.
