new idea/variant on Buffista Island. Buy a plot of land, build a bungalow court of mini houses. have a central library/social space.

Like cohousing communities--some shared space, some private space!

I swear I am spending more money "preparing" for this trip (clothes, new backpack, doctor visit, etc) than I actually am spending on the trip. Ridiculous. Crossing my fingers the prescriptions I pick up tomorrow aren't heinously costly. I got two vaccinations today and OW--one in each arm, so now both arms hurt! Stupid typhoid. Stupid hepatitis. Don't wanna get you but OW.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

I don't want a tiny house. I'll take a smallish bungalow, but climbing down a ladder from the loft bed to go pee in the middle of the night, DNW. I don't want huge, but I'd like to rearrange the furniture if the mood struck, and tiny houses have mostly built-ins.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Yeah, I've lived in 400 square feet before as an adult, and it's not fun.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yeah, I love bungalows (and Buffista company), but any house I get will need to be adaptable to one-floor living for age-in-place purposes. I know my life's likely physical trajectory, and it doesn't involve stairs after 65 or so. Still, the cohousing idea is glorious. I have a friend in Durham doing that. Can we have gardens?

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I would not have a tiny house with stairs and I'd envision these as 400-600 sq ft for 1 br and about 1000 for 2br. I may have thought up plans in my head last night.

That was before the dream where I was doing door to door voter registrations and met Chris Evans.

Librarian Warlord

My house has to be big enough that I can get away from my husband and daughter. I love them, but I need my own space.

Librarian rant: Look, I know you'd like me to do you a favor, but you only have a partial citation for the Maryland Register you want from the 1970s. I'm not going to look through them for you, even if you are an alum who donates what you tell me is "good money." I never see any of that money, and maybe you should spend some of it to hire a research assistant instead of trying to shame me into doing your work for you. See also, PFFFFFT.

Lee, I'm sorry about the move, etc. I am having lunch today with Michelle and we will raise our non-alcoholic beverages in your direction. Also, come visit us.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I may have thought up plans in my head last night.

Very good. I am seriously down with this plan, just tell me when we need to invest. Or, actually, well before we need to invest because I have literally no idea how I can fund my share of this venture, but I desperately want to.

Because books.

Sparky writes the best rants.

Or, actually, well before we need to invest because I have literally no idea how I can fund my share of this venture, but I desperately want to.

Yes, this.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

My uncle's wife just posted something about drug testing welfare recipients. Fortunately, someone else spoke up, very reasonably, and explained why this does nothing, so I could just like their reply.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Yeah, I love bungalows (and Buffista company), but any house I get will need to be adaptable to one-floor living

Bungalow courts are single level. Historically.
