Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Look at the buildings in the background of this photo

Wow, you made that. That's amazing!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How's that working out for you?

The transition was really stressful at first (my boss got mad at me for a few things which weren't my fault) but it's been better lately. I just gotta get out and do more walking to make up for not walking to the train station every day.

Kat, yeah. It's better than more than 3 weeks intubation with the broken ribs, pneumonia, etc. It's still just hard, she isn't coming out of sedation particularly well. Actually talked to mom tonight. She dodged some stuff, it's ok, what she needs to function. This is a long haul.

Yeah, that's my experience with working from home. I only do it maybe one day a week, so I intentionally try to schedule errands on those days so I actually get outside. I'm glad things are improving, though.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Wow, you made that. That's amazing!

Well, I managed the parts that light up. We're still working on more of those truss legs. That glow in the background is a 16' moonbox that travels across the stage over 30+ minutes.

That's so cool, Aurelia!

I did make it to work today, and the swelling has gone down, but it's still not great. I won't get my stitches out until Monday, sigh.

I stress-ate the last of the pumpkin cake tonight, while baking an apple cake for tomorrow's yearly office baking competition. Apple-pecan-ginger-five-spice cake. Won't be flashy, will be tasty. Go me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Very cool, aurelia!

I'm glad your mom is getting some support, sara.

Working from home was hard for me, because it was so easy to slip into the habit of not ever talking to anyone, even when I did get out of the house. I wouldn't want to do it long-term.

Well, there's a very real possibility we're finding out today that the CSwhatthefuckever contract is being cancelled/bought out/we're all fired. Last minute CSWTFE all hands followed by an Institute one.

Um, so, yeah. Whee?

YIKES. But would that mean you could be hired on directly?

sarameg - Mar 03, 2016 3:50:16 am PST #16643 of 30003

I don't know. My worst case? Contract renewed under CSWTFE.
