The band grade is because you have to "pass off" pieces of music by playing your part at a certain level. He does not practice and has stopped passing things off so he has many many zeros. Dumb dumb dumb.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I literally can't believe that's a possibility.

I both can't actually believe it and feel like I ought to be laying groundwork for contingency plans if it somehow comes to pass.

Aw, Mac.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

In addition to having really good coffee here (since my SiL is a coffee buyer), we just had killer tacos and guacamole.

My brother is still doing well. He hasn't had a drink since Wednesday night at 8:00. Now he's trying to get back to eating nutritious food in normal amounts (he hadn't been eating much at all) and cleaning the house, etc. He still feels a little shaky, but overall feels much better.

17/100? Ouch.

I wonder if your SIL knows my friend here in Seattle who is a coffee buyer (and who travels to places like Indonesia and South America and Ethiopia, for the coffee).

My head is killing me. The good news is, I finished the work that super needed to get done today. The bad news is, there's other stuff I'd really like to get done today? That I don't think will be getting done.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Much better, Tep!

My internet/phone/cable is down -- really it's the whole neighborhood. It's forcing me to do stuff like clean the house. feh.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Steph, I'm glad to hear he's doing better. Eating real food (as opposed to alcohol and junk food) should be a help. There's a reason alcohol is referred to as "empty calories" (says the daughter of an alcoholic father and pill poppin' mama).

She's a buyer for Allegro coffee, which is a Whole Foods brand. She's traveled pretty much everywhere for coffee, between this job and her former job at Green Mountain Coffee. She's in Myanmar now.

I think I am going to dig out my Hate Is Not A Family Value for the 5K tomorrow.

That all sounds good, Tep. Now I want tacos, guacamole and coffee.

Headaches and internet/phone/cable outages I give the stinkeye.

I pretty much squandered the morning by sleeping in and finishing my book and general dilly-dallying, but I've got a load of laundry in the washer now, so that's a step in the right direction.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I'm sad I'm about to use up my Rwandan coffee, but I bet I can get more... We were just pondering if our folks in Mexico could get any there, or if it all goes straight to GMCR, I mean Kuerig.
