I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Domestic first class tickets never get you into a lounge, no matter what airline. International Business/First, OTOH, almost always does.

I've been in NM since Monday, traversing a good portion of the state. I'm spent. I just want to be home, and I won't get there until midnight.

Tep, I'm glad things are going better.

Drew, I'm sorry. It doesn't seem like there's going to be a happy ending to any of this.

Yay, ltc!

Liese, I hope you get a lot out of this conference, including time to recharge your batteries.

flea, good luck! I hope the interview at least gives you the feeling of being wanted.

Yay, I've finally paid off the back taxes from Hubby's forgiven student loan. Word to the wise, you can get student loans written off, but the final total of that loan, including interest, will be counted as income that you have to pay taxes on. We paid the feds, but not the state. Now all I have to do is pay this year's state taxes in April--not one penny till then!--and I don't have to worry about taxes till next year.

Flying Delta right now. I'm still sticking with them... for now. They've made Comfort + its own fare class, which now makes it the first upgrade, instead of going directly to First. And I won't be able to book it directly for work anymore either.

Edit: Not sure United or American would be much better.

I flew Delta down to Vegas, then Alaska Air back. I should have done Delta both ways. Alaska's planes from Salt Lake to Vegas don't fit in the boarding ramps at Vegas, so you've got to climb ramps out in the weather--which can be 120 degrees in the summer--to get into the terminal and plane.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

ND, I'm sorry about the family drama.

Hi, Maria!

One of our local restaurants just opened up a bakery. Their bread is just okay, but their pastries and especially their cupcakes are so good! Mom is here for a couple days. So, we ended up getting half a dozen cupcakes, as well as cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow. Their cappuccino was also delicious, which makes me feel bad for the coffee place in town whose cappuccino's aren't that great and who often don't have fresh pastries.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I flew Delta to Colorado, because Tim had frequent flyer miles I could use. I generally like them, but I give them the stinkeye for the Comfort+ being its own fare class now.

I'm flying Frontier back home, which I've never flown. It should be an adventure.

Always Anti-fascist!

I knew somebody(an attendant's daughter) who took melatonin or tryptophan for sleep, got a tainted batch, and developed quite the disorder. Which is not great news, but that was many years ago and not related to the chemical itself, but some sort of handling issue. Man, that was like, twenty years ago that I knew them/...so weird how you can see someone every night and then they are just gone. I think about them a lot and wonder if the daughter got any better, but it's weird how you can get into a time warp, I mean, I've lived here 16 years, and was in another place for a year or so before that, but some of those memories, while not terribly happy, can be really vivid.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Probiotics: does anyone have any advice about what I should or shouldn't be looking for?

At the beginning at the month I was on a course of antibiotics. The #1 side effect is, of course, diarrhea, but for some reason, it left me with the worst constipation of my life.

I like Culturelle for an easy to find one. I mainly stick with it because it's lactose free unlike some others I've tried, but it also seems to work well for me.
