Be sure to give me a heads-up, I'd love to drive over for a mini f2f again.
Goddamnit, I really need to stay caught up in here. Every time I'm not, bad things happen.
{{{Drew}}} I wish I could say or offer something more.
Sara, I hope your aunt recovers as well as possible. Much travel~ma to your mom. (Side note: don't let me blather on about my trivial stuff when shit is going on with you. I feel like a tool.)
Glad everyone is ok, Suzi.
JZ, I hope you get some relief soon.
I gave up sugary sweets and fried foods for Lent. I'm doing better on the fried foods side than the sweets, though I have avoided candy in all forms. (Does a chocolate cupcake Luna bar or chocolate chip cookie dough LARA bar count as sweets? If they don't, I'm doing much better at avoiding sugar than I initially thought.)
And I'm in the Salt Lake City airport , waiting for the shuttle home . It's hard coming home to no one waiting for me . Maybe this will get easier with repetition .
Will do, Matt.
Yeah, that's tough, Connie.
Be sure to give me a heads-up, I'd love to drive over for a mini f2f again.
Me too!
I'm sorry, Connie. It does get easier, eventually.
I say Luna and Lara bars are healthy snacks! you go, girl!
Huh, I have no memory of taking Sundays off during Lent. Not that I ever really gave up things.
Me either. I used to give up things, though. But my parents are pretty hardcore. My mother used to try to avoid meat during Lent, and they at some point also used to go to mass every day in Lent. She hasn't taken Communion in a couple of years because she missed mass one week.

That's more hardcore than Tim's dad. Wow.
That's more hardcore than Tim's dad. Wow.
I think she's getting more so as she gets older, and I wonder if her dementia is reinforcing it somehow? My dad was always the strict one about church things growing up and now he's like, "I can't convince her to go to communion."
Then again she's got nothing on her mother who made us say the rosary EVERY DAY when we were visiting, and we used to visit for a few weeks.
