...because God knows you need some satisfaction in life besides shagging Captain Cardboard! And I never really liked you anyway. And you have stupid hair!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I'm sorry you have yet another funeral, Tep. Jeesh. Good luck to your brother. It's so hard. But worrying doesn't help, if you can find a way to stop.

I have hit the point of the day where everything I could do would be SO MUCH EASIER from work than from home. Maybe I will take a hot shower.

Now I'm curious if dogs react the same way to Goofy.

Sorry for the discontent, Zen. How are you feeling physically?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

That makes 4 funerals/memorials so far in 2016, for those keeping score at home.

That is beyond sucky.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Aw, crap, Teppy.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Jesus, Tep. This year needs to take a long look at its choices.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Steph, I'm so sorry. That just sucks.

Okay. Not great, not bad.

I got some test results back today and they weren't great. My fasting blood sugar (after a 15-hour fast, don't ask) was 102. The "reference range" - I assume that means normal range after a fast - is 62-99. While a couple points above normal might not be scary, after such a long fast my glucose ought to be much lower than that. I think that puts me in "prediabetes" range, although I don't have any other symptoms of diabetes. Considering my partner died of complications of uncontrolled diabetes 20 years ago, diabetes is a thing I'm pretty scared of. I've already cut back on sugar in my diet, now I think I need to get serious about exercising more. Losing weight is one thing, preventing myself from getting diabetes is another.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man, Steph -- that is Too Many Funerals. I mean, there's getting older, and then there's ridiculous.

Good luck, Mr. Dana!!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am seriously crossing fingers for Dana in Nashville.

Holy cow, Tep. That is too much.

Good for your brother. Hope this therapist is a good match.

That's scary, Zen, but diabetes is totally something that can be well-controlled. Good on you for getting serious.

I would like to announce that I have ADULTED LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING ADULT today. My big nonprofit report was due (ok, was due after an extension) and I expected to turn it in right around midnight like I always do. Except that the online filer I use has decided to move its deadline up so it doesn't get screwed over by people like me. So I then expected to turn it in at 5pm. Only while I was getting my hair cut, I realized they meant 5 eastern, which is two hours ahead of me. So I turned it in at 3pm, a full 9 hours before I was expecting to! Yes, yes, I know, but small victories.

In other news, can we do another round of "what's going on with liese's eyebrows?" How's this version? [link]

And if you're just there for the haircut, here's the other angle. [link]

I'm glad you are watching your numbers, Zen. I hope it doesn't add to your stress.

Good job, Liese! Like the brows, love the cut.

It's self-eval time, apparently. Yay. It'll be fine, it always is, but I hate doing them.

Argh. When I send an email saying" Do we have enough widgets for this purpose?" I expect the answer to include "yes we do" or "no we don't" SOMEWHERE even if it goes off on a tangent of whether we have already charged for the widgets and reassurances that non-widget issues have been dealt with. That's why I'm asking about the widgets! Answer me!

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Widgets, widgets, widgets. I remember taking an economics class and one person just not being able to comprehend that a widget was a representative term, not an actual thing. Yes, for that whole class, that is what I remember.

CJ is back amoung the living. Pedialite and saltines!! His car - not so much so. It looks to need a new motor. It is an old car to begin with, so looks like he will need a new (to him) car. Not sure with what money, but I'm gonna be Scarlett O'Hara and not worry about it today.
