Oh Drew, I am sorry. It is such a mix of emotions when you really know they need to be free from the sufferings of life, and yet the loss of your parent is a major life loss. Wishes of peace and comfort for you and all your family.

ND, I'm sorry to hear about your mom, too. I understand very well mourning the loss of a parent while they're still living. It does somewhat soften the impact of the final loss. But the other side of that is, it may take years, but you will recover the memories of the woman she was before she became ill. I wish you and your family peace.

My cousin lost her biggest fan, her champion, her dad.That's what cracks my shell. .Molly is his miracle, his light, his favorite person in the world and that extended to his grandkids. The man who lovingly used to called us all a buncha commie pinkos turned feminist environmentalist when he became her father. We, all who have great relationships with our parents, remarked on their bond.

Thank you everyone. I still can't believe it's been 8 years since my dad died. I don't know that I thought I'd lose both of my parents before I even hit 45.

Things I wasn't able to discuss with mom & dad, I don't know when, if ever.Ken climbed from the accident to get help before he died. Saved his wife's life. Jfc.
