I know, world in peril and we have to work together. This is my last office romance, I'll tell you that.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Brenda, are you around? Want to zip line across Millennium Park this weekend? [link]

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I was having a terrible dilemma involving leaving the gun and taking the cannoli (not involving a gun) but I think I have resolved it. I just have to go home before going to happy hour, but that is better than leaving my delicious and tempting leftovers in the shared fridge here at work for probably two days (since I am getting lunch for one of my meetings tomorrow). Yeah. I just have to not accidentally take a nap and not go out again...

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Greetings from New Orleans on a Mardi Gras day! I did not go out at all over the weekend, so my Lundi and Mardi Gras were really fun and relatively low key. I actually ventured into the French Quarter today for the first time on a Mardi Gras, and that's where all the shenanigans are, which was fun to watch for a spell.

Uptown parades are also pretty joyous and a bit crowded, but nothing like Bacchus Sunday. I regret not having enough steam (plus my body parts were hurting like whoa) to catch Rex uptown with my parade buddies and also "chase" Mardi Gras Indians in Central City/Treme.

Beautiful day today. Just awesome. It's amazing that it's this whole weird tradition that is barely acknowledged outside the area, but the entire community - black, white, rich, poor, tourist, local, young, old, and anywhere in between - comes together and celebrate LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS. That's what's so magical about it.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay Mardi Gras! Sadly I just now remembered what day it was because I have been so tied up with work stuff. It is really nice to hear you are enjoying it so much, Nora. As I said last year, maybe next year...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That sounds awesome, Nora.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I can't believe I've never been to Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Maybe next year. And I'm glad you're enjoying yourself, Nora!

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The snow here didn't stick, so that's good.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Yay Mardi Gras! Someone brought a bananas foster cake and put in the break room for Mardi Gras. I am not sure what a Bnanas Foster cake is, but it was pretty good!

My question re Duncan Macleod is-/ am I immortal?

I let the lack of parking at my happy hour of choice defeat me. Bah. I didn't want to keep wearing out side clothes anyway.

Was the Bananas Foster cake on fire?

No fire, which was why I was confused! Just a bready cake with bananas inside with a sign saying it was a Bananas Foster cake. Maybe they were on fire in the bakers kitchen? It had Gren and purple icing.
