WHY IS THE TRASH THE SAME SIZE AS THE RECYCLING?? SHOULDN'T WE BE ENCOURAGING MORE RECYCLING???????

Oh jeez, meara.
Oh yeah, that got worked in there too, Jesse.
Our trash cans were bigger than the recycling, AND they were blue. Many people moaned that blue is for recycling, OBVIOUSLY, so everything was the wrong color.
Oy, meara, yeah, I hate that stuff.
Well, blue is for recycling HOW ARE WE EXPECTED TO LIVE IN THIS CHAOS?
Our trash cans are gigantic and I barely ever have any trash (and my recycling I have to cart myself to the town two hours away (but it's still eco because I was going there anyway once a week)) so I only ever drag it out once or twice a month. We have a neighbor who has apparently paid extra to have two. As far as I know, it's a couple in that house, just like us. So I have no idea how they're generating that much trash every single week.
Yeah, our trash cart doesn't get filled in 1 week, but we pull it out on trash night anyway, because if we wait the 2-3 weeks it takes for us to fill it, the cart starts to reek like your worst nightmare.
We are black for trash and green for recycling. And the REALLY eco-conscious neighbors have an extra-small trash cart and an extra-large recycling cart. Showoffs.
I rarely fill more than a small bag with trash. Like, it's a grocery bag most weeks unless I'm doing something messy. And then the catlitter tub when it fills. But I fill up on recycling every week. Ours are officially yellow, but they'll take it from whatever you put out recycling day.
My recycling thing is huge. I have to pay based on the size of my trash can. Which is black. The compost is tiny and green. And also missing, so I keep just using my neighbors' one.
Green is for green waste - grass clipping sea and whatnot. Also the least used by me because I compost, but I do fill it up on occasion with blackberry vines and other weeds that I'm afraid will just germinate happily in the compost pile. I would have to go look to see what colors the others are, but the trash one is the bigger one, whatever color it is. I keep telling myself I should put them down on the curb whether they are full or not every week but then Sunday nights I am often tired and don't wanna.
We don't have curbside compost, but we do have curbside yard waste in certain months (bags full of leaves, etc.), but it has to be in yard waste bags or a can clearly marked as yard waste.
