It's like, in the middle of all this, I'm paranoid that you'll think I don't like poetry.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

That strong feeling comes when you are separated from your child. It's a weirdly instinctual feeling: my baby needs me RIGHT NOW! At least that was how I experienced it.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

If I put it on high for several hours can I still eat it?

I would. If you have a thermometer you can stick into it and verify that it gets above 165F I think you are good from a food safety standpoint, but even without that it sounds like everything that's in it is already cooked and/or cured so I wouldn't worry.

Do you think she'd get up if she knew I need to buy cat food?

No. You should be able to figure out how to do that without disturbing her. Or so my cats tell me regularly.

Somebody brought in pizza and put the leftovers out for the rest of us to scavenge so I did have a slice. Making up for Jesse.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

sj, what got things going for me physically was having correctly sized flanges & using the Lansinoh 3-in-1 breast pads warmed up & sitting on top of everything as I pumped. Good luck, & don't beat yourself up if it's difficult for a while.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Gary and I are 47, and the little guy's our first(and only). Right now it's not too bad, but soon enough he'll be mobile.

brillig

ION, it's going to be in the mid-70s in Vegas next week. Ah, poolside in my future.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Thanks Juliana. I'll try that.

ltc is miserable today. She wants me to hold her 24/7. I'm exhausted and TCG is home but shoveling. So, I'm not getting rig any relief. She is consistently like this every time we have a very social busy weekend. I think I gave birth to an extrovert. How the hell did that happen.

The split peas are still hard. So TCG transferred the soup to the stove. I'll make sure it is up to temp before we eat it.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

No. You should be able to figure out how to do that without disturbing her. Or so my cats tell me regularly.

That's fair. From a feline standpoint.

I can't imagine myself having the energy for a child. I did find teaching both exhausting and energizing, but I was mostly away from kids after 9pm so I could decompress.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Somebody brought in pizza and put the leftovers out for the rest of us to scavenge so I did have a slice. Making up for Jesse.

I'm so glad!

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

sj, just chiming in to say I also have almost never felt that strong letdown feeling that some women experience. I asked a lactation consultant and she said in fact, lots of women never really do. So for what it's worth, that's more common than you might think.

Supercooled pool. My fingers didn't even prune and everything felt super slippery, it was weird. Good for the fact that I'm a giant ball of ache. I think it's the storm system. Kicked in right around when the pressure started dropping.

Long day webexed into a SDR while working on other stuff when I could. More tomorrow, weather permitting. And shoveling, unless this storm is a bust.

The nextdoor trashcan thread is now at 35 replies. People are all upset over the default can being 65 gal! Too big! OMG, we have to actually *request* a smaller one!!! What about the infirm? It's hilarious at this point.
