I pumped for 6+ months and started the day after the kids were born. I'm not sure my experience is helpful though.

I love that we're talking about pumping during the super bowl (which I am watching.) What worked for me - using an electric pump at work - was to get the pump started, and close my eyes and imagine the baby was actually nursing, and I would get letdown within a couple of minutes, and be done in about 15. I always had a really strong letdown, though. It helps to practice when you really need to nurse.

sj, although actual breastfeeding was easy, pumping was very difficult and time-consuming for me. Using, in fact, the same exact pump as flea.
It didn't help that I didn't have a new mother's room available when I went back to work, but even when I was pumping at home, it took me about 45 minutes to get much of anything.

Most boring pro sports game I've watched in a long time, and the commercials weren't awesome either. A weird theme involving talking animals. Also (to paraphrase Twitter) Helen Mirren has some community service for her latest DUI? I can't see any other reason for her to be seen with a Bud (in a bottle no less!).
