Fred: So you don't worry that it's possible for someone to send out a biological or electronic trigger that effectively overrides your own sense of ideals and values and replaces them with an alternative coercive agenda that reduces you to a mindless meat puppet? Shopkeeper: Wow. People used to think that I was paranoid.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Those rolls look amazing, Consuela!

I did not wait long enough to go to the market today.

Same. I walked by at noon and decided not to go in because it looked like a madhouse, so I waited until three, and that was not long enough. Ah well.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I am also rooting for the Panthers, mostly because Cam is great and Coach Rivera is awesome, but also because my industry friends have been reporting shitty treatment from Broncos-affiliated personnel.

There's a great article somewhere (I'm on mobile, so I'm having problems finding things & formatting posts) about how the Panthers are the first unapologetically Black NFL team. It's a good read.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

OK, I have done my taxes! I feel very adult. Of course, my taxes are relatively simple compared to my Dad's. Oy.

Time to do some yard work...

The article that Juliana is talking about is here: [link]

It's great.

And speaking of being unapologetically black, check out Beyonce's new tune. I am not a particular fan of hers, I like some stuff, not others, but this one is great (one might even say that it slays ;) )

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Oh, those rolls look amazing. We did our traditional superbowl calzones. Although, I started this tradition when we were throwing parties all the time and I had teenagers to feed. This game, not only do we not have anyone over, but the SO isn't even home! He mistakenly scheduled himself work hours at his second job, so I drove some calzones over to him for "lunch." But still, it's just me and all the calzones. They came out super great, though.

I am rooting for Peyton, of course. I have followed his career since he was a Vol and I was in college in eastern Tennessee. The SO's family is all in Indiana. And now I live in the west, so I'm pretty much contractually obligated to follow Denver. But I really like Cam, too, and the Panthers have been amazing this year, so I have no problems with it if they win.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Since we're not at a Super Bowl party, I think our Super Bowl dinner is going to be pancakes. Nom nom nom.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have no interest whatsoever in cooking tonight, so our dinner might well be PBJ sandwiches. I'm tired of every meal being my job.

I have a frittata going. This time it's ham, gruyère, and roasted broccolini.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Those rolls do (did?) indeed look delicious, Consuela!

I am rooting for Peyton, of course. I have followed his career since he was a Vol and I was in college in eastern Tennessee.

Ah, this may explain why everyone I know here is rooting for Peyton. Not the Broncos necessarily - they'd root for any team Peyton Manning was on, I think.

I have a frittata going. This time it's ham, gruyère, and roasted broccolini.

Sounds delicious! Everyone with their delicious food. I am eating chips. Maybe I'll go get some yogurt so I don't feel like a complete failure as an adult today.

Luke Kuechly is a Cincinnati boy, who went to my high school's brother school, so I'm half-assedly rooting for the Panthers, but I actually don't care. I'm just here for Bruno Mars and Bey.
