Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Poor Tim, that sounds painful. Good thing he has you to take care of him.
shrift, I applaud your ability to keep yourself so well fed given you crazy work schedule.
A lot of the time, I'm just tossing a bunch of stuff in a slow cooker and then collapsing on the couch to watch TV while it cooks.
That was my yesterday although we ate almost all of it, and so it's also my today only today I'm making mushroom/veggie broth so I can add the last of the pot roast and some barley to it. Nom. But I doubt it will be done in time for tonight's dinner so we may be stuck with take out.
I just made four salads to bring for lunch this week, as I low-carb. I'm already scared it's not enough food, but I also threw in a thing of almonds into the bag.
What's the difference in price between Soylent and Ensure or other meal replacement shakes you can get at the grocery store?
DISRUPTION.
The recipes are all pretty simple to make, inexpensive, and delicious. Except the turnips and barley, we didn't care for that one.
Oh god, I hated those turnips and barley! I also bought a frozen salmon fillet, thinking about that recipe.
DISRUPTION.
HAHAHAHAHA
Poor Tim, but that doesn't sound as bad as it might have been! Glad y'all were able to find a dental office t take care of it today!
I am hoping to make a bunch of soup today but first I need a quick lunch because I forgot to eat at lunch time and now I'm starving. I actually bought chicken parts to make into soup which feels very weird but that seems to be what I need to do today.

Thanks, Burrell. Although I'll point out that leftovers do last a lot longer when you only have to feed yourself.
Laundry is in the wash. Beets are roasting the oven. I think it's time to retire to the couch and watch Agent Carter.
Oh, I meant to say, I think soylent is vegan? I'm not sure about that, but I think I remember reading that it was, at least, not milk-based a so many meal replacement shakes seem to be.
I think the original version used a protein derived from brown rice? Something like that
I think I could have handled the turnips or the barley, but not together.
I love lots of the other recipes, though. And some of them are super easy to keep the stuff to do them on-hand, even if I'm not actively using the menu.
Also, if I don't make time to cook for myself on weekends, I end up eating nothing for breakfast and frozen pizza for dinner. If I have quick, easy, and healthy options available when I'm tired, I make better food choices.
Soybeans and lentils, hence the name. Or so they say.
Dang, my canoe somehow fell off its sawhorses. I think the process must have involved the tarp that was covering it turning into a sail? It's pretty unwieldy for one person to manhandle, but I got it back in the correct position to not get full of rain, so I'm proud of myself.
Operation Make Soup is slowly in progress. Have cleared off some counter space and started pulling veggies out of the fridge. I'll need to start a load of towels before I do more of that, though. and I need to sit here and not move for a few minutes before doing anything about the towels.
