brillig

7 degrees is an uncomfortable temperature to be scraping ice off your windshield. But the road to work wasn't icy for a change. And the sun should finish melting everything off the car. Not bad fort the last day of January.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Poor Tim had a root canal on Friday, and his pain level has been pretty bad all weekend, despite vicodin. And he woke up this morning with a lot of swelling. Our dentist gives patients his home number for after-hours/weekend emergiencies...but he left for vacation yesterday (it's a small office where he's the only dentist). He'll have a backup dentist while he's gone, but either he didn't give Tim that info, or Tim lost it.

But we found a dental practice that's open 7 days a week and has an emergency dentist on staff, so they can see him later today, thank goodness. I hope it's something easy to treat.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Matt, I don't think there is one short, pithy Bible verse that echoes Burke's quote. One thing that I like to say to the "blue lives matter" people is that I take police officers's safety so much to heart that I want all of them in this country to have the kind of community support, trust and respect that comes only from genuine accountability for the way they discharge their duties.

Poor Tim. I hope the emergency dentist can help soon.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Poor Tim!

Hey, remember when I was going to clean my bathroom? Done, finally!

Poor Tim!

So I took the kitty into BARCS just now. Cried the way there and was super lovey during intake. Which made it hard, but reinforced that it was the right call. My cats reaction from afar had clearly stressed her out, hence why the hissing at me last night. And I didn't even have to wrestle her into the carrier! I left it out last night and she slept in it, so all I had to do was zip it up.

Intake named her Andy. I just made a large donation in her honor.

And yes, I got teary leaving. Of course.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Could they tell if she was chipped?

Laura, somehow I avoided tears. Not sure how but my heart was going a mile a minute and I was so worried about my dad's reaction to his car being busted. Again, he was so gracious and kind about it.

Today is the memorial. I was told they are expecting 100s of people. I basically just want to hug the kids and listen to my dad's eulogy for her and then I'm set.

She wasn't, alas. But she's so squooshy, with plush, clean fur and litterbox trained, she had to have been a pet., probably indoor, fairly recently.
