Early: Where'd she go? Simon: I can't keep track of her when she's not incorporeally possessing a space ship. Don't look at me.

So the test today was a full fireman obstacle course. Carrying rolled hose up multiple flights, hauling equipment, pulling a charged hose, carrying a body, a ladder climb and such. Followed almost immediately by a 1/4 mile run. It was all timed and you couldn't pause at all. Apparently the first two to run the course quit at the third obstacle.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Next step is someone a rung higher on the ladder will call and ALSO tell her that her article is being delayed because we really do have a tight schedule. There's virtually no wiggle room for lateness. An article can be late by maybe 2 days, but this author is close to 7 days late, so she's not getting published in the issue she was originally going to be in

Is there any chance her response to this news could get her article dropped entirely? rubs hands in anticipation...

Man, if it wasn't years with you people, I'd be shocked! SHOCKED!! At the viciousness of editors. Heh.

Successfully created a spreadsheet of "halp, I can't shovel" for the neighborhood. Proposed those who need aid or know of someone who does sing out. 3 needs, 3 volunteer including myself, so far.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sarameg, that is just a wonderful thing to do. Go you!

(We're so totally gonna get socked. Tonight echoes 2010s back to back blizzard neighborhoodness so hard, it's a sign.)
