I opted to not get the coat. I don't really need it, decided I'd rather buy a new dress or two for the $50. I did get some slippers. Not really what I am wanting long term, because they have no sole (just the same fabric with non-skid dots) and thus NO support, but these: [link] for $7! There were GOBS of them at my JCP, so FYI. They are the super fuzzy soft fleece, but you feel the seams on the inside, so I might always wear them with socks, unclear. I looked at 3 stores for slippers and it looks like dearfoam has boot things with nice foam insoles, they feel like memory foam, but I know they are not. None in stock or my size, but I can order them.

I put a beef chuck roast in the crock pot 3+ hours ago, so at some point in the near future I need to chop up some garlic, potatoes, Swiss chard, and whatever else I decide is going in there to make it healthier before I add the egg noodles.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I went to a Da Vinci/Escher double exhibition at a nearby museum with amyth and some other friends, followed by shopping at Penzey's and dinner at a nice Central European restaurant. I feel like I Saturdayed extra well.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

That sounds lovely, Calli. A most excellent Saturday indeed.

I went for a run in the mud and clipped the dog's nails. Then laundry, vacuuming, house-cleaning, paperwork. Now climbing and probably pizza.

not your mom's socks.

I wrote two articles, went for a walk and played a new game and baked pizza with House Sox. It was a good day.

Wine night with friends last night, market this morning with Karen and crew, then errands for both of us, laundry, swim, and soon Karen is picking me up (she's staying here but went out to dinner with another friend) and we're going to Joe's show in Hampden.

I got nails done, then lunched out by myself, then went clothes shopping, then picked mac up from sleepover, then tried on some dresses from the back of my closet, then straightened room, then went shopping for slippers, grocery shopped, now home dinnering and cooking for future meals (roasted veggie soup).

TV next? or virtual house shopping?

SO VERY. I really do miss having Karen here. Yes, we still talk a lot, but...
