Ah, Utahns: "It's so warm out there! I left the house and wondered if I really needed a coat." "I know, it's nearly 30 degrees out there." "Yeah, dude, where are the palm trees!"
Highs last week were in the teens, so we can be forgiven for being a little giddy.
So I was mostly offline for the weekend as we were visiting my FIL with spotty wifi and come home to find out that some militia group or something is now occupying federal lands to protest the jailing of arsonists or something like that? WTactualF are people thinking there? Maybe I have my facts wrong
No, those are the basic facts, but layer them with the typical rightwing "The Federal government has no right to take my land away from me, even if it is Federal land that I've been using illegally!" mindset.
I'm horrified, Sophia, so I say: Count It!
So really they are just spoiling to start a civil war at this point? And the rest of the country is just trying to ignore them and not take the bait? No wonder the rest of the world thinks we are a bunch of assholes.
WTactualF are people thinking there?
I don't think they are. At least, not in any way distinguishable from a 3-year-old in the middle of a temper tantrum.
This is probably not up to ita levels of horrifying, because it is just a list, but I am horrified
Horrifying enough for me not to click through, so: mission accomplished!
Yes, I feel that I am honoring ita's memory by definitely not clicking on that link.
I get a strange sense of meh about having a bunch of armed folks taking over a federal building with gift shop. Maybe it's just too expected.
