I have to clean as I go.
Speaking of cleaning, I did a 30 hour stretch of sorting, cleaning and purging with a 3 hour break that only garnered an hour of sleep. Last night, I tucked in at 2am and woke up at 12pm!! Excellent sleep. So good.
Today, lots more sifting and organizing things to give away and otherwise off load.
Now, I'm making Hoppin' John much too late in the day. Ah well. It smells pretty yummy.
First day of total vegan-ishism going quite well.
Where is Sherlock BBC discussed?

Let me know if you want any suggestions for cookbooks or recipes or anything.
I think Procedurals, Juliebird. Been a while since I've seen discussion, though, so I could be remembering wrong.
Do I want to thaw out the Pumpkin Bread Pudding (that I don't know why I bought it except I was buying All the Pumpkin Things) to have for breakfast tomorrow? I think I do.
Yeah, I was going to say Procedurals.
-t, I had to do that when my floors were refinished (the workers were supposed to seal off the cabinets with plastic and tape but didn't). That is no fun.
Thanks for the validation, aurelia. It did not seem like quite this big of a project when I started and now that I am in the middle of it, kinda overwhelmed. The only way out is through.

Cheers, Hil.
I've recently acquired "Isa Does It", Plant Pure Nation and a Mark Bittman cookbook.
Have you made any of the Forks Over Knives recipes? That one is next on my list.
Oh, that reminds me! Hil, have you seen [link] ? I got it for my mom and it looks pretty good.
I haven't made any of the Forks Over Knives recipes yet. I love all of Isa Chandra Moscowitz's cookbooks, though I haven't cooked too much yet from Isa Does It. A lot of recipes from Appetite for Reduction are ones I make a lot. I also really like 30 Minute Vegan: Taste of Europe. I've also cooked a lot from Viva Vegan.
-t, I hadn't seen that yet, but now I want to get it!
I've also liked a lot of the recipes from fatfreevegan.com -- despite the name, the recipes aren't all fat-free, but they do tend to be on the healthier side. [link] does a lot of experimenting with stuff -- his creations don't always turn out right, but he'll post them and post what went wrong and how he thinks he can fix it, and it's a good "try it out" sort of resource.
