Travel weather this year is counterintuitively suckier than usual this year.
A friend who lives in Kansas City was in Pensacola last week and is still there because his flights home keep getting cancelled. He was going to drive over to Biloxi to visit a friend, but apparently there was a threat of tornadoes there, so he's just staying put in Pensacola (which isn't the worst thing in the world).
We're starting to get some nasty flooding here, and there have already been some major highway closures.
My phone blew up multiple times a day with flash flood warnings in B'ham. Not to mention the tornado sirens. Those NWS flood people are on it when it comes to text alerts! The tornado and thunderstorm people, nsm. Which is kinda fucked up. Tornado alerts hit my phone a good 5 minutes after the tornado sirens started deafening us, and well after the first funnel hit B'ham.
Scary! Everyone stay safe, wherever you are.
It looks like I'm not getting out until Wednesday. I didn't pack enough medication for this! It's not the end of the world if I miss a day of meds, luckily, but I want my own bed and to be able to read Yuletide.
It looks like I'm not getting out until Wednesday.
Yikes.
I could...email you Yuletide stuff? Or send you the ebook files for some stories?
Thanks, Dana. Internet is slow and I don't want to blow through all my mom's data, but maybe I will take a quick spin through the archive later and download a few stories to read offline.
It looks like they rebooked me for FIRST CLASS, ha ha, what? Maybe I won't try to get an earlier flight.
Bummer for being stuck, shrift, but yay for first class?
I just threw out a couple of cookies because I really didn't like the taste. I don't think I've ever met cookies I disliked like that before.
My office is dead. I should go do more filing.
At work, A TON to do. Luckily not much going on and not many ppl here so I can slowly go through things and try to get completely through some meticulous tasks without mistakes.
One thing at a time, complete it, then pick up the next paper in the pile and start on it. It seems each thing on my desk needs four or five different tasks to take care of.
