Well, it looks like there's a tornado on the ground SW of downtown B'ham, about 35 minute drive from here. (We're in Trussville, to the NE of B'ham. Of course, that's the direction the storms are moving. But it's a ways.)

amych, sorry you have to deal with all that.
sarameg, stay safe!
You guys. My mother made a Christmas present for my cat! My anti-pet hates-animals mother! Hilarious.
Awesome, Jesse.
OTOH, I got a cat clock. :/ My sisters think it's so me. I'm like...um...have you met me?
I'm still in turkey coma. The hurty tummy is due to pie.
With the pendulum tail and the eyes that look back and forth on the tick-tocks?
Christmas with Tim's family was lovely as usual (they resolutely do NOT discuss politics or religion, which is super smart; I just geeked out about Hamilton with one of Tim's nieces, while Tim and the niece's boyfriend rolled their eyes). But I left before dessert because I have a porcupine in my throat and my ears hurt. Bah.
pointless mansplaining and shouting matches, nonstop Christian privilege, and general I don't wanna.
My brother sent me periodic texts from our aunt's house (he went there today, while I went to Tim's Dad's house). Our conservative bigoted aunt lectured about morality for a while and then went on at length about how Christians are going to be rounded up and put into camps and their guns will be taken away from them. (I asked my brother if he pointed out that anyone who's put in an internment camp, regardless of demographic, probably doesn't get to keep their gun.)
In other words, I won at Christmas today. My poor brother. He can't even drink to deal with that utter nonsense.
(And did I mention that my brother and SiL gave me earrings that are tiny luchadores??? So much win, y'all.)

I gotta say, those are cool. I would be okay with that kind of a cat clock. But probably not any other kind, not even Hello Kitty.
Tornado!! Leave sarameg alone!
I have decided to reverse my dishwashing workflow to go right to left, or counterclockwise.-t, I'm contemplating reorganizing my entire kitchen due to the onset of a ninja kitchen system (so much squee) and it is giving me a rumbly in my tumbly.
I love change, in most things, but changing the flow of my kitchen just seems wrong.
In this case, however, feeling weird about adapting to total luxury seems, I dunno...childish in a bad way.
I've had a lovely day...truly enjoyable...and am now going to watch the Downton Abbey finale, which came as a total surprise to me. I thought it already ended!
Then a soothing bath with some Kneipp bath stuff that is seriously of the gods.
Sigh.
Warm wishes for comfort and joy or survival and relief, whichever suits.

This one had a bird pendulum and a pink flower in its hair. This is it: [link]
Huh. Not what I was imagining at all.
