When you look back at this, in the three seconds it'll take you to turn to dust, I think you'll find the mistake was touching my stuff.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I came out and he was stomping around the house then fiddling with the locks because he was going to leave since we don't want him here. In his arms were his lego foam sword, three bags of treats and two books.

Been there! D's never gotten further than the lobby, and 90% of the time he just sits on the landing outside our front door. Unfortunately it scares the shit out of Aeryn when he threatens to run away (it's the ONLY thing that scares her), so it's a balancing act to reassure her that he doesn't mean it while also ignoring him so we don't feed the tantrum.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

So K deals with Noah very differently than I do. I got him a bag to put his stuff in. She took him out of the house (to get coffee and iced tea before our 5K this AM). Before she started the car, she asked him, "So where am I taking you?" He didn't respond so she asked again. Then he apologized.

I finished my last 5K of the year. I have participated in a 5K every month this year which has been my new years resolution. I am SLOW, but I've done it. It wasn't until October, though, that I actually started training (in part because I'm stupid and I was injured until June with plantar fasciitis). The ones later in the year were so much easier! I also started participating in the Hogwarts Running Club which has been hugely motivational for me and I've done a fair number of virtual races. In fact, I'm doing a Run to Oz marathon right now and I probably will finish it today (I have 0.3 miles left).

Next year's goal? K, my friend Candice and I are splitting 2016 miles throughout 2016. My goal will be to just get through it.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Parents of the board, I salute your courage!

Harvey sends his best purr-vibes to Wilson.

All you busy people are making me want to nap. I tripped at work yesterday, landing with all my weight on my right knee. I'm pretty sure bruising and soreness are the extent of my injuries. At this point in my life sometimes the fear that sort of thing inspires is bigger than the injury itself.

amyth, sending out the vibes for Terry's family.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I think your 5K resolution is awesome, Kat. I am bad at resolutions as I always let myself down so I do better if i present them to myself as goals, not resolutions. But I should make a resolution to finish a full draft of my novel by the end of 2016 or I fear it will never get done.

We spent the morning at the park, between Tai Chi, tennis, and basketball (although only the boys played that last one). It was the right thing to do as we are all in a better space now. But now I need to buckle down and get some Xmas grocery shopping done so I am not blindsided by Thursday. And meanwhile DH needs to get some tools so he can get back to work on the house projects. And did I mention we are down to one car? We'll see how this one pans out.

Love the monthly 5k resolution, it was such a good one for me! I think I did 11 races this year--didn't end up doing one in Feb or December, did two in November. But a friend asked me to do the New Year's Day resolution run with her, so on it goes!

I'm on my way to the airport...don't get to Indy until 1am, ugh.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Congrats on fulfilling the 5k resolution, Kat!

Much recovery~ma to Terry's mom, amyth. How scary for him and his family.

Airport was way less crowded/crazy than I feared. And thankfully I have plenty of legroom, and was able to stow my bags. So far so good? Though the $30 credit for using Lyft that my roommate sent me didn't work.

Onward to Phoenix! And then to Indy...

The status is NOT quo.

You can do it, amyth!

Kat, that's awesome. Good for you on the 5K resolution. And I love N's packing list.

Have fun in Indy, meara.

Burrell, would it help if I do a Rah Rah cheer for you? Rah rah! You can do it!

We have dropped all the pets off at their various vacation homes and cleared out the part of the house that will be missing this time next week. We will know more after the official report comes in tomorrow and T (landlady) talks with the bank and her home insurance agent. Cross fingers that she gets good news. And Wilson's MRI on Tuesday will determine if ND will be able to come to Florida with me or if he will stay here for Wilson's surgery and recovery.

Crossing my fingers for good news among the mess, Pix.

K-Bug took me out to the Nutcracker today. She also gave me an early Christmas present of a fancy holiday outfit. We had a great time. Now we are home slounging.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I don't know if there's a correct thread for this, but they've announced the casting for the Harry Potter play. They've cast a black woman as Hermione.

I am already wincing in anticipation of the hysteria that will result from this.
