Oh, Connie. So close and yet so far.

Natter 74: Ready or Not
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It started snowing around 8am and has been falling steadily since. I need to go out, brush off my car and pull it in the garage. And yet I don't want to leave my nice warm house.
I'm having a pretty self-indulgent day of rest today. Have done nothing but feed myself and read. Thinking about taking a bath.
As soon as I finish dinner, gonna start rolling and baking cookies. Gonna take forever.
It's ridiculous, y'all. Deer and antelope literally roam. Coyotes and roadrunners literally run. Tumbleweeds tumble. I'd say you couldn't make this stuff up, except clearly you can! It's just that I live in fictional world.
We're at about three inches of snow and still coming down steady. I just saw a coyote running through the snow and, I shit you not, there is a road runner sitting on my front step.
If you get any packages from the Acme Corporation, do not for any reason considering opening them!
I just read through yesterday's carol/Christmas song discussion, and I don't think anyone mentioned my three favorite recentish ones: Fairytale of New York, Merry Christmas From the Family, and the Dropkick Murphys' The Season's Upon Us.
On the traditional/religious side, I partly judge them on the quality of the alto line--which makes Joy to the World, O Come All Ye Faithful, and Angels We Have Heard on High favorites and makes me evil enough to find Silent Night kinda dull. I also have a soft spot for relatively obscure carols like Of the Father's Love Begotten, Lo He Comes With Clouds Descending, Lift Up Your Heads Ye Mighty Gates, etc. As long as they're fun/interesting to sing.
Mac was invited to a party tonight. Invite said 5-8.
What time would you be there to pick up your kid?
8 sharp, in deference to the parents?
147 cookies. Overshot. But there are some Quasimodo ones thanks to subpar pans. But they taste fine.
Now to retrieve laundry and make my bed up....
Lift Up Your Heads Ye Mighty Gates,
That's a great one. I wish my voice was still in the shape it was when we did The Messiah in Oratorio Choir in college. I did enjoy being at Messiah sing-alongs and surprising people. I was a first soprano. Ah, youth.
I was here at 8 and was told I was the first parent to show. I've waited 30 min and not one other parent has shown up. I am appalled. Wtf is wrong with people?
