I look more rad than Lutheranism

We have a Christmas party to go to tonight, and I DON'T WANNA. I'm just sad and tired and kind of sore all over, like I lost a fight to someone made out of fists. Mostly sad. And tired. I have zero holiday cheer, but I suspect that getting out of the house might be okay. I don't know. Humbug.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

We totally are! It's the blonde hair and pink cheeks!

I just gazed off into space thinking what an amazing wardrobe we'd have if only we were close enough to share!

And also the KMart thing! Did you have the horrible Christmas music?

Honestly, I can't remember their music very well. But I spent 95% of my time on a register, so it was generally hopping enough that I couldn't really hear the Christmas tunes, I think.

hip deep in pie

In high school in the late 80s I worked as a cashier at KMart, and there was a looping tape of horrible Christmas songs that no one had ever heard before. But it somehow seemed appropriate that KMart didn't have normal Christmas songs.

The Zellers (Cdn Kmart equivalent) in my hometown seemed to only have two XMas recordings for a decade: Boney M's Christmas and Jim Reeves' Christmas album. I am oddly nostalgic for both, even though they remind me of shopping for socks and cheap cologne.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Avoiding Christmas songs is part of the reason I do as much of my shopping on-line these days. Unfortunately got LDB'd by Arrow.

The salmon pesto pizza was all right. I ate a slice, but didn't go back for more. Some declared it "too fishy."

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Ladies took me out to lunch today to a Japanese steakhouse. I thought it was for all the work I did on our house tour and the fact that I'd jokingly suggested Benihana as our staff Christmas party location. It wasn't until I attempted to help pay the bill that I learned it was because M had been wanting to treat me to lunch since Chris's death. And then it all made sense. I've told the story several times to my coworkers about how Chris always celebrated his birthday at a steakhouse. I kind of withdrew after that or else I'd start balling. Took a drive after do I could have my ugly cry in private. I'd gotten miso soup to go for dinner. Even that made me cry when I ate it. I'm so glad none of the Benihana staff sang J a happy birthday song or I might have burst into tears right at the restaurant. Between Ginger and a coworker and close friend loosing her baby in the second trimester just last week, and the stress of our house tour, I've been very emotional these past two weeks.

Always Anti-fascist!

My mom has worked at K-Mart for a year now and really hates the music.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

shrift, my DH is going through some sort of interview process at Google. I have very little info however, didn't even know he was applying for something there, although he must have told me. Egad, my brain is loopy these days.

The status is NOT quo.

Heh. Our school chorus did "Text Me This Christmas" and were adorable, so I have a soft spot for it. But only when they sing it.
