I know that tune, but not the words. Is it in Appalachian Spring?
I am fond of Joni Mitchell's River as a Christmas song.

Good vibes for your brother, Consuela.
My favorite Christmas carol is "O Come, O Come Emanuel".
I know that tune, but not the words.
There is another folk song with that tune. Tis a Gift to be Simple, I think?
My favorite Christmas carol is "O Come, O Come Emanuel".
Love that one.
"Simple Gifts" is the Shaker song, and it's used in Appalachian Spring.
Edit: Meaning, brenda is right and Sophia is right.
Job~ma for your brother, Suela. Yeah, back in the day I worked myself up from temp to the level directly under the people who reported only to the board of directors, had a good hard look around at the view, and promptly retreated into tech. It wasn't that I didn't think I could do it, in fact, at the time (young, arrogant) I had a pretty good sense that I could be every bit as hard hitting and ruthless as it would have required to be successful in the next role up, but the thought of living every day in that soup of intrigue and drama and positioning, for the rest of my life, in order to manufacture and sell pneumatic equipment to robotics factories? Did not appeal.
So I learned t code and was allowed to work autonomously four days a week and make hitchhikers guide to the galaxy jokes all day long for slightly less salary than those guys and I never looked back.
Yikes, brenda. Here's hoping the new person is too new to get it.
Dana did make me laugh, though!
Can you convince them you got the lead in the local Christmas pageant?
Good luck to your bro, Consuela.
Ha, Dana, that was great. I just kept playing until I got them all right.
Sending job~ma, Consuela. I hope he lands somewhere great.
Xmas shopping, oy vey! Must get on that.
Oy vey, brenda. Wow. I hope it's just a fleeting memory.
I love "O Holy Night" as well as "Carol of the Bells." I tend to gravitate towards the traditional, older carols. Think "The Holly and the Ivy," "Once in Royal David's City," and "Coventry Carol." My favorite Italian carols are "Tu scendi dalle stelle" and "Gesu bambino" (which is known in English as "When Blossoms Flowered 'mid the Snows.") I also love "Patapan."
I'm a big fan of Sinatra, Martin, Crosby, and the like for secular Christmas music.
Job~ma for your brother, 'suela. I vacillate as to whether I truly want that kind of visibility at work, and I hope it turns out well for him.
