Yikes, flea, what a mess. Hope the laptops work out!

Though I suppose I'm a little sorry I'll never get to respond with "I keep trying, but none of the guys I've had sex with have gotten pregnant. Maybe it's me, do you think I should see a fertility specialist?"

Oh, I do so hope the universe gives you a chance to use this response at least once!

The library director at a previous job used to play Jingle Cats as the cue for all of the stragglers that the library was closing for the Winter Break and they needed to clear out.

In adulting news, I have trimmed my Inbox from 12,075 to 10,947. My plan is to get rid of all but stuff I actually need to act on by end of year

Yesterday, for the first time that I can ever remember, I got my work inbox down to zero e-mails. It is very strange. Of course, it is already filling up quickly today.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I really quite like The Little Drummer Boy. I HATE Christmas Shoes, and also the really weird one with Ed Asner about Christmas in Afganistan or something. I also dislike most random modern versions of Christmas songs, as I listened to that ad nauseum when I worked retail. The first year, it was great, a lot of bing Crosby, three different versions of Christmas in Kilarny (which is one of my favorites). The next however many years were like- Backstreet Boys sing your Christmas Favorites, or Celine Dion. The only song I liked in that mix was Christmas Wrapping.

Tonight I went out with coworkers to drink several pitchers of Kingfisher beer. Someone ordered salmon pesto pizza. I don't think I've ever had salmon on pizza before now.

I'm off to Dubai in the morning, so I should go to bed.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm not fond of any song I have to listen to more than three times between entering a store and getting through checkout. Thank goodness for online shopping.

My favorite Christmas song since childhood is In the Bleak Midwinter. It may not be climatologically accurate for Bethlehem, but it sure works for northern Michigan. I also like Angels We Have Heard on High for the "GloooOOOOoooOOOOooOOOOo-ria!" bits.

No review on how it tasted?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

If you've gotta have Glorias, I like "Ding Dong Merrily on High" over "Angels We Have Heard on High."

I like some of the more obscure ones. "Once in Royal David's City", "A Virgin Most Pure", "Angels From the Realms of Glory", "See Amid the Winter's Snow."

I like some of the more mournful ones, like "Coventry Carol" and "The Cherry Tree Carol." But I think my favorite Christmas song is "The Lord of the Dance" from The Christmas Revels, which is quite defiantly un-mournful.

Oh, Cherry Tree Carol is great.

Ann, that's a ferret.

"Christmas Wrapping" is fun. I was a teenager when "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" came out. The first Christmas or two, it was a funny antidote to excessive sentimentality. (Welcome to the psyche of the male teenager.) However, it quickly became tedious and annoying.

I'm just not much on Christmas music generally. But I really like "Silver Bells."
