Yes, definitely. I'm not scheduled to go back to work until the 21st, which is probably more time than I'll need. I answered an email that my student intern wrote yesterday, which my boss was cc'ed on, and my boss wrote me back, "I'm glad that you're feeling better. Stop working." So nobody is expecting anything from me, which is nice. Plus, this is the quietest time of year in our office. AND I covered the whole office this past summer when my boss was very sick, my co-worker N. stopped coming to work for a while, and all of my temps quit in a three-week period. So I feel really okay about relaxing.

Re: scopolamine. Yes. It is apparently the zombie drug AND routinely used as a transdermal patch for motion sickness and for nausea from anesthesia. Go figure! But if you read some people's accounts of their withdrawal from it (admittedly, many of those people were on it for longer, like a ten-day cruise or something, but STILL) it makes you wonder how doctors can be so cavalier and just slap one behind your ear. But it was also the only thing that stopped my barfing. But yeah, you can also Google some terrifying stories of scopolamine being used as the "zombie drug" which are truly scary.
That sounds like excellent progress in your recovery, a myth. Yay! And nice job on timing your medical emergency to a quiet time at work. That isn't easy to pull off.
Also yay for sleep and for being done with finals!
Good news, amyth!
The coasters are from the NatGeo catalog. Shopng.org, search coasters. Promised to deliver by Xmas if you order by the 14th. Just FYI, if you're all desperate like me. Got my dad thinkgeek's planet glasses since they weren't sold out this year.
Glad you're feeling better, amyth!
Ah, fuck, Maria, I hate that there's only so much we have control over.
And thanks, Sail!!!
Um, FTR, I've been to the Creation Museum (at least, the Institute for Creation Research), a few times, when it was located just outside San Diego.
Yeah, one of my classmates from High School is from a family that is a major funder of both of the organizations. The actual museum is from a slightly different group though. There was a schism in the ICR organization quite a few years ago and Ken Hamm is the leader of the splinter group that went on to found Answers In Genesis which runs the museum and the Ark. In 2006ish there was another split and there is now another group called Creation Ministries International.
Um, yeah, I might know too much about these organizations.
Thanks, sarameg, that might just pair well with the coloring books. Now, what addresses to use...
Glad you're feeling better, Amy!
My day had a moment of potentially being a huge PITA, and work-wise that has not stopped (basically part of my job is checking a box electronically when I've verified it's right. But some people in another division have started using those checkboxes for their own purposes. And checking ones that weren't checked or Unchecking others. Boss is flipping). But non work wise, day is ok. Or will be if my plane takes off on time and I get home ok?
