Zoe: What's that, sir? Mal: Freedom, is what. Zoe: No, I meant what's that? Mal: Oh. Yeah. Just step around it. I think something must've been living in here.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

They know the protest was only on the Mag Mile that one day, right?

Yes, well. Elderly white grandparents who possibly are Republicans tend to clutch at their pearls.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Thanks for the cat-drugging ideas, guys! She still really likes to eat the pill pockets, just figured out she could eat around the pill, so I don't think it's another flavor of those, but cream cheese is an interesting idea! Apparently the thyroid meds are effective, in that her bloodwork looked better, but it hasn't changed her throwing up at all, so I'm not that pressed about giving it every day, really.

Our wings are not tired.

His theory being that my symptoms were the virus settling into my nerves, and whether that has any scientific validity whatsoever I have no idea.

That is interesting. All of you are making me want to look into the vaccine now. Also Susan, sorry about the Mom sub-teacher thing. I have a number of friends and family that are teachers with their kids in their school and it is a mixed blessing for sure.

Is anyone paying attention to the ongoing police drama in Chicago?

Some, but the newsPTB seem to think all we want to hear about is Donald Trump. Chicagoistas, what is the local feeling about Rahm's role in this ongoing mess. Like was he the only one in Chicago that didn't know there was a problem?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh he knew. how could he not? He's just not used to being forced to act in things he doesn't want to.

Half a billion in brutality settlements. So far. He knew.

Our wings are not tired.

That's what I figured, Brenda. There is surprisingly little coverage on this since The Donald monopolizes the news cycle.

Ann, that's a ferret.

For cat pilling, we use a thing with the horribly hilarious name of Pill Popper. It's a syringe -type thing, where you put the pill in the little rubber end, pry your cat's jaws open, and shoot the pill down their throat with the plunger.

I second the Pill Popper. Perhaps the most wonderful invention ever. We get ours at our vet for $8. (The little rubber end wears out eventually.)

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I really did not want to get out of bed this morning; it's chilly and raining and staying curled up in a blanket would be just the ticket. But I did. Forgot to bring my water bottle with me to work (remember to hydrate, my friends) and put my Aeropress together backwards when I went to make coffee. Shoulda gone with my first instinct.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am so happy Ozzie's meds are a shot instead of pills.

Jesse do they have you giving her the hairball/laxative gel stuff? My cats both take it easily. Sylvester actually loves it.

brillig

Adulting victory that shouldn't be as big a deal as it is. My toilet has been wobbly, which is a simple matter of shimming the side that has the gap. But my anxious brain kept bleating about how I'd screw it up somehow, that it was a sign of horrible things etc. etc. The other day I marched myself into Lowe's and bought some shims, and last night I grabbed my competence by the throat and spent five whole minutes lining them up and cutting off the extra bits. Then sat down, frowned at the slight wobble that remained, but called it good for now.

Adulting without a net sucks.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I never, ever want to give my cat a pill again. She hated me, and it really needed two people.
