Our wings are not tired

You should be able to write a personal check. If it doesn't clear they have a car they can repossess.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

You should be able to write a personal check.

It genuinely didn't occur to me that I could write a personal check for 5 figures, I guess because I've never written a check that large.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I wrote a personal check when I bought mine. It was mind boggling to write that amount, but I didn't have any issues.

You can absolutely write a check. I did that with my last car.

Looking at CarMax might be a good plan since they don't negotiate and you can get a good idea what cars go for there even if you don't buy there. Tons of available inventory of cars on line. My nephew bought his last 2 vehicles off the internet. He lives in upstate NY but happily drove to Ohio for one and PA for the other because of the good deals.

I have purchased five cars from CarMax over the years and highly recommend them.

Also if you are buying a NEW car, Costco has arranged deals with people? Maybe not the best best price but no negotiating required?

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

That's awesome, tommy! Although I will admit to a slight double take when I read your post.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Yay, tommy!

Thrive to spite them

I love my Fit. Just throwing that out there. And when the car buying happened there were all kinds of options like gap insurance and maintenance plans. I kinda liked one of the plans but it was outside the budget. So I got gap coverage. Dad did most of the negotiations bit it was basically the monthly payment has to be x amount. And he kept saying that until IL it happened.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Glad to hear it, tommyrot!

I have no advice, Tep. Outside my experience. But good luck!

I decided what I really wanted for breakfast was TJ's triple ginger oatmeal, which meant going grocery shopping before breakfast, which led to buying All the Food. Truly, that was a ridiculous amount of money for me to spend. But my spoils should feed me for a goodly while and the cashier lines started getting long while I was checking out, so that's something.

Should be cleaning now but I need to rest up from grocery shopping...
