Also, our hot water heater decided to stop working, and it's 52 degrees out. I am not looking forward to that shower.
I feel your pain -- urs was out fr 3 1/2 weeks after the basement flooded. Heat some water in a big stockpot, and take a spongebath. And you can keep water pretty warm all night and day in a crockpot. It sucks, I know.

It's apparently the thermal coupling, and Tim already sourced a replacement part and is coming home early to replace it. (Although I have to shower before that, because we have to leave at 5 for a meeting. And I really do need an actual shower, because I haven't taken one or washed my hair since Sunday, and I have to stand up in front of a room full of people and give a presentation, so I need to be clean for my peace of mind.)

Ugh. waiting for a call back. I reached out to senior leadership this morning about some serious concerns I have about the direction of our department and risk to talent. Would appreciate any stay focused ~ma so I can get everything across without sounding like it's a bunch of complaining.

Wow. You have ovaries of steel. I'd wear flip-flops and use a sketchy shower over an ice cold one anyday. I'll JUMP into cold water and get out immediately, but an ice-cold shower fills me with fear and loathing.
They always test my glucose, too, and that's always fine. So I've got that going for me.
Mine has been fine 99% of the time, but they also check my glucose because of my family history.
Anyhoodle, I'm just mentally preparing for all the fist-shaking I'll be doing at the universe when I go in for a physical and my numbers still aren't great despite massive lifestyle changes because genetics.

When I ran the hot water tap in the bathroom sink, it went from ice cold to...room temperature, if the room hasn't had the furnace turned on yet. So, basically, a touch "warmer" than cold.
