Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Forgoing my usual Thai takeout for NYE.For once, I'm not socked out with a cold and I'm feeling cheap. But I am having miso with cabbage and spinach, because I haven't felt right all day. I'm a little afraid the crick in my neck is actually a precold symptom.

And I made cookies.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Rose's daycare teachers use "booty" regularly, and it always strikes me as odd, since I do think of it as a somewhat sexualized term. So I can see where your sister is coming from, meara, even if it does seem to be commonly used.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Huh, my corporate holiday present arrived. Everyone in the company was given a fitbit Charge wristband.

Wanna trade? The Theatre's namesake gave us a DVD (Goodman history or home movies? I'm waiting for someone else to watch and report) a logo'd pen with a LED light and a logo'd keychain. Last year was wine.

I wandered in to work around noon, but I didn't leave until 7. What is wrong with me?

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I got out a few hours early, took the dog for a walk and did some weeding.

Now it's off to dinner with some family friends, and then maybe a party. Should be a fairly quiet night.

Happy New Year, Buffistas!

Imma gonna carry one box of cookies out to the field for the fireworks. The other is for a brunch I hope to attend as long as I don't wake up sick.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We didn't get a corporate gift per se, but everyone in Operations got a frittata pan.

I bought one of those for myself last year, so this one will be going to my sister. Who makes a lot of frittatas. So it all works out.

Last year we all got asparagus steamers, which I also already had, but the gift one was a different style so I decided it was okay for me to have two. I might need to steam a whole lot of asparagus, after all.

OK, time to make some black-eyed peas, etc.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

I don't think I'll be staying up to watch the ball drop this year. Instead I'll get a jump on the new year by hiding in bed asleep and surprising it early in the morning when it has a hangover.

I'll be initiating Yosemite download and going to bed after watching the fireworks. Hopefully it'll finish by morning.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I just got home. After a few years of dragging ourselves out, my friend C and I almost accidentally discovered that going out for early drinks and then retiring home to our respective dogs and couches made for a good entry to the new year.

I still need to schlep the dog out. Anyone want to come by and do that for me?
