I am having probably foolish thoughts about buying the house my sister lives in. It's not in great shape, has an awesome location and yard, and it's a duplex. She lives upstairs and we could move my dad in downstairs.
It went on the market today, at less than I expected, so it's right at the point that it could be feasible. (20 k either direction would make it an easy call. As it is I'm torn.)
Sounds like a decent investment, brenda, with the river view and two units. And it would be great for your dad!

Totally! Would your sister and dad rent from you? Would that be weird, or is your family OK with money things? (For some families that would be mad awkward)

I ordered silk glove liners from Wintersilks. You'd think I would realize that they come in pairs, and order one, not two. Sometimes I wonder how I manage to dress myself.

Personally, I'd try to not think about it for, say, 48 hours. Then when I think about it again my brain will have sorted through a lot of stuff without my nails suffering for it.
Extra silk glove liners is not a bad thing. They are super easy to lose.
