I, for one, wasn't looking forward to starting my day with a slaughter. Which, really, just goes to show how much I've grown

OK, PInk is amazing, and I love her. But much as I like the song"Give Me One Reason", it also strikes me as such a gaslighting women song. "no, baby, there's nothing wrong, it's all in your mind!"

PUPPIES!

I demand pictures!

What kind are they, and how old?

To be fair, I got my fill of dogs today: I went to the Golden Gate Kennel Club show, which is one of only two bench dog shows in the US (the other is Westminster). So I saw lots and lots of beautiful dogs. Sadly, my sister's dog (the Diva) was too distracted (possibly by my presence) to perform well. Still, it was fun to see all the dogs. Including an enormous bull mastiff, who was splayed out in the middle of the aisle on his back, surrounded by people who wanted to rub his belly. So cute.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Wow, Black Sabbath, the Rolling Stones, and a song with Paul McCartney are all nominated for best rock song? That's...odd. I can't quite explain why I think it's so odd.

Heh, the Grammys are infamously bad for rock and roll. Flat out stupid and always have been.

OK, I love Kacey Musgraves' "Follow Your Arrow", but what the HELL are they wearing?? She's wearing some sort of awful lampshade as a skirt, and they ahve....light up cowboy boots and jackets?? WTF?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I too want puppy pictures!

Not only is all of my laundry put away, but I got all but one of the things on my to do list, and even that thing was something I looked and and thought about and then decided I could just do it tomorrow.

ALL YOUR GOLD STARS ARE BELONG TO ME.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Helena, two more girl "grey" names: Griselda and Grimalkin. Well, they're not strictly either girl or grey, I just think of them that way.

Puppy pictures would be good!

School is closed today for cold! It is 17 degrees. Okay, it is very windy and feels like 0, but seriously? Last week we had MLK Day off, then a day off for snow (it was actually snowing during the morning commute), then 3 days of 2-hour delay for cold (with temps under 10 degrees.) I am so tired of this shit!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

flea, you are singing the song of all my east coast/midwest parent friends. When are you all going to get out of school at the end of the year? July?

Well, on looking at the actual forecast, by noon it will be 0 and feeling like -15, so it makes sense to cancel in this high-poverty, high-bussing district. And overnight they're talking wind chills of -30, so we will almost certainly be closed tomorrow. We were scheduled to finish about June 1, but I heard they take the make-up days out of spring break before extending the school year here.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Way to go, Lee!

Give Me One Reason, the Tracy Chapman song? How is that gaslighting? The light up clothes I heard about on FB because I went to college with the woman whose company makes those (pretty much any outfit on TV that lights up is hers) and she mentioned it. I tend to like the idea of her stuff more than the actual outfits.

Sorry, flea, that's got to be tough to deal with.
