I like Lorde. There, said it. Maybe because I wanted her hair when I was 17. Already had that lipstick. (And her interview with Rookie was adorkable teenager.)
Natter 72: We Were Unprepared for This
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Grendel also seems to be tempting fate. There may be a bad-ass mother out there.
I like her too. I wonder how affected her voice is though. looking at her mouth when she sings.
enh, I am not loving anything on the Grammys yet.
I like that song fine, but more when other people are singing it. I am already dreading the Lorde-alikes on the next season of The Voice.
I'm not watching the Grammys. Missed the Golden Globes too. I don't mind the Grammys but I better not miss the Oscars.
Isaac and I made that apple pie-cake. Swapped out 1 cup of the oil for 1 cup buttermilk, so it looks quite cakey at the moment, and smells wonderful. Won't get to try it until we're home from dinner.
Had dinner (roast pork and squash souffle, yum!) and got all my cooked food put away and my fridge is full. Definitely time to stop cooking until I can eat some of this up. And not drowning in dishes that need washing! Still two loads to go through the dryer. My To Do List is oppressing me, but I did actually get a lot done today. There's just so much that needs doing.
Speaking of laundry, if I start a load of permanent press in the morning and leave it in the washer all day and dry it that night, that would probably be okay, right? Wrinkle-wise.
Because we can't do anything (even stressful shit) half-assed, we adopted two puppies during a kitchen renovation.
The house is in chaos, there's a makeshift kitchen in the dining room, pee pads/rawhides/toys strewn all over the floor, and I'm covered in primer.
All in all, I'm holding my shit together fairly well. But I am considering xanax. Does anyone have xanax?
You know I'm a big practitioner of doallthestressatonce, what'sanother. My sympathies. Ride it out.
...and I can't wait to see pictures! And moar stories!
I am weirdly excited for Sarah Bareilles right now. A duet with Carole King! Amazing. Edit: OK, I was not quite as excited as she was, so that's good.
After reading her autobiography, I really feel like I know Carole King, and she is great.
