My grandmother's guest bathroom (maybe half bath? The one right by the front door) had black and gold flocked wallpaper and gold fixtures. IT always seemed totally glamourous and fancy to me.
When DH and I went to Graceland, a lot of the decor kind of reminded me of my Grampa's taste.
One load of laundry completely done and put away; one more each in the washer and dryer, running; quiche in the oven (my idea was to layer that roasted broccoli soup with custard and cheddar, but the soup DOES NOT float on cream, so, well, we'll just see. Also, I did not make enough pie crust to hold all the ingredients, but I think it will stay in the pan while it bakes? I hope.); dishes are holding steady with about the same volume still needing to be washed, but since I am adding dishes with the cooking I think that's a win.
Next up, Hollandaise sauce, I guess. Hm, so may things to coo, not sure what order would be best. The one oven is full of quiche for the next hour and half at least, but I have two ovens...
Hey, Cowgirl, I liked some of these a lot: [link]
With such a tiny room, and the black and white tiles on the lower half of the walls, I'm actually thinking pretty seriously about pink walls. Like this! [link]
I do like that.
OK, sausage "muffins" waiting for oven #2 to preheat. And hummingbird nectar mixed up because I noticed I was low. Definitely time for a break.
Go with pink and turquoise and it'll look like a 50's diner.
I will echo sara's point about a bright color in a small bathroom affecting how you look in the mirror. My bath in NYC was orangish when I moved in and I always looked sick in the mirror until I painted the walls a grey blue. maybe paint the one wall with mirror on it hot pink? and artwork to compliment that color on the other white walls?
That's a good ide....wait, did msbelle just advocate for LESS PINK? My world is askew.
Go with pink and turquoise and it'll look like a 50's diner.
I once lived in an apartment with classic pink and black tiles and I still miss it!
I would not pick a color that I wouldn't wear, so that should help with that, right?
I like the combo of pink and black and white. But I would pick a pink that is more like a shell than vibrant.
K has folded every piece of clothing in the house and I have washed all of the dishes and de-gunked the tub. Plus shopping, coffee and tea, more shopping and trying to send an eshakti dress back. Oh and watching more hockey.
Can I take a nap now?
Go nap! Choose nap!
I went to work and did enough stuff that the focus of my "how the hell do I get everything done" thoughts shifted from work stuff to house stuff, so then I came home. I've done a little of the house stuff, but I think a nap may happen before much else.
