So raw kale is less...floppy than other greens? Like, compared to, say, spinach or romaine, it it markedly more stiff? (I'm such a kale n00b!)
Yes! More fibrous.

Yeah. If you don't massage it, it requires a whole lot of chewing if you want to eat it raw.
Intriguing. Also slightly intimidating. I usually don't have to take my food to the spa before I eat it.
Also it's easier to be irked by my mom than to worry about my dad.
I tend to go the direct route and get mad at the patient.
Crazy winds just kicked in. I seriously thought there was a miscreant in the alley, since I wasn't expecting it.
Well, my dad is currently in the hospital with some liquid in lungs and he won't answer the phone so it seems useless to be mad at him.
My dad has been hospitalized with this at least two times before. Hence the defibrillator.
AND now I have to find another old person for Grace to interview but it has to be an old person with access to technology so Grace can skype. It's complicated.
I hope they figure that out for your father, Kat.
Kat, I think my mother Skypes. Do you want me to give you her contact info? She's old as balls.
My parents do facetime, not so sure about skype, as well. I also can send info.
Oh dear Kat, much ~ma for your father. I hope he's home and feeling better soon.
And Suzi, I'm sorry that folks weren't there for you. That truly sucks.
I like kale, but it's not my favorite leafy green. It's a little high maintenance, you know?
Speaking of leafy greens, Franny has asked that I start making her salads for her lunch. I consider that a win.
Today I took the kids to Cal State LA for their art class and got some writing done, then came home and worked in the yard pruning roses. And did the grocery shopping. I feel all acomplished.
I shudder to think what constitutes an "old person" to a small child.
