And don't you ever stand for that sort of thing. Someone ever tries to kill you, you try to kill 'em right back! ... You got the right same as anyone to live and try to kill people.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I do know where you live!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

But still am not a cowgirl.

Not according to my daughter.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

We're having a week of hellacious weather here. Today the maximum is 43 degress (109 in Fahrenheit). This is ushering in four days of 40-degree weather (104F+).

I'm not saying I'd swap with Chiberia Chicago, you understand. Just that I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

Oh, the kicker: for the month of January, the rail company is doing upgrade work on my line, which means a three-station segment is closed. Both to and from work, I need to catch a train to one station, go find a bus, take it to the other station, then wait for a train to take me the rest of the way. I'm so looking forward to the rest of this week.

...I would totally take Chiberia over 109 degrees. Ick.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Why do people not understand not to reply all?

The entire cast and orchestra of The Jungle Book wished each other Happy New Year by using reply all on a performance report. It went on for days.

I'm not saying I'd swap with Chiberia Chicago, you understand. Just that I wouldn't dismiss it out of hand.

I might consider a swap. Although my battery operated socks just arrived today.

Oh, and get this: my mother-in-law decided that today was the perfect day to travel into the city with Biyi to buy some new luggage. By train. By train-and-then-bus-and-then-train-again. And then back.

I'm working from home today. I insisted that I at least pick them up from the station where they'd have caught the bus. (Biyi at least needed no persuading.)

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

What a PITA about the train, bt.

I won't complain about the unseasonably mild but rainy weather. Dreary, to be sure.

Pumpkin is about as enthused as I am about getting up in the morning. She stays curled up on the pillows a good 5 minutes after I'm up and about, cracking just one sleepy eye at me. It amuses me.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I had a hard time getting up, after waking up at 5 and going back to sleep, but then was in a panic about being late, so I'm at work even earlier than usual. I guess that's fine?
