Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Merry Christmas, everyone! We're doing brunch at my daughter's, so I need to go cut up fruit. Maybe throw a little booze on it to make it festive.

Safe traveling, meara! It was so gray here yesterday, I was hoping for a little fresh snow for Christmas, but alas, it seems you have bogarted it all.

Thrive to spite them

Merry Christmas! I have watched everyone open most of their presents. E was a very happy boy he wanted a "pianeo" (keyboard) from Santa and a garbage truck and a rocket ship. And he got several rocket ships and he was excited. I managed to take pictures on skype I think everyone else forgot to take pictures.

He got a big cardboard rocket ship and we signed off with Mom making breakfast and my brother putting together the cardboard rocket ship.

He was so cute and did his happy dance a few times.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So we get a white Christmas after all-it just started snowing hard a few minutes ago.

My first choice for breakfast was closed. Luckily my second was open.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi here in the airport to catch up. Typical visit with the folks- too much food, went to the movies yesterday(Skyfall), impatient dad is impatient. Still, it was reasonably warm and relaxing.

(Ended up getting LDB'ed last night, and by Justin Bieber of all people. Ah, well)

Our wings are not tired.

Peace and love to all.

Thank you, le nubian. Back at ya, and the same to all the Buffistas and ones precious to them.

Relaxing for the first time in forever before I get to the cooking. Bobby is gone to bring a gift to his friend that is a girl. They discuss being a couple from time to time, but they are so close they fear blowing the friendship. They are both seniors at different HSs, and she was mentioning that she didn't know if she would have a date for prom. His dad thinks he needs a 2x4 approach since subtle don't work here. My other son missed the trip to see other coast family yesterday because his car is dead and I didn't have and extra hour or so to fetch him. His dad is going to fetch him today for the family gathering here. I went with clothes and a big grocery store gift card since he asks for food every time I see him. DH is also going to drop off his old foosball table when he picks him up. I suspect he will also look at his broken bike and car since first born son inherited neither of his parents mechanical skills.

The carnivores in the house chose ham for today. I also have some scrumptious noodle pudding, roasted sweet and white potatoes, tons of treats from SIL's clients, and lots more. But for now it is Doctor Who, then maybe a sim before I am hitting the kitchen.

Love the jammies, Kat! I should do this for my crew some time, maybe heart fabric lounging boxers for Valentines Day. Hmmmmm. They would all love it.

There's hardly anyone here in the restaurant. One guy keeps on saying, "Bah, humbug."

Punishingly Intricate

Merry Christmas, buffistas!!!

I am waiting to get in the shower before the hoards of family get here for Xmas brunch. We got a ton of nice wine and beer and glasses (which we are really low on thanks to clumsiness) from my folks. Nice!!

hip deep in pie

Merry Christmas! We're sort of mottled white here. We had only a dusting of snow.

Boys were up at 6:15. Their parents are hungover, poor things. Held off on the Santa presents until 6:30. My parents got here at 7:30 or so and the craziness began. My brother got us all ugly Xmas sweaters: my mom's is a snowman cat, dad's has a Santa pissing out merry Xmas, and mine has mating reindeer!

Weather forecast has thunderstorms, high winds and hail. Ah, Christmas in Alabama...

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

We went to the candlelight communion at Mom's church last night, then out to eat Italian with my cousin and her boyfriend, then brought take-out home to Dad (he was determined not to freeze to death in the bitter 50° cold by going out). Then exchanged the presents we promised not to buy this year and hung out for a while.
