this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

A photo of what's going on in Australia. Not photoshopped at all.

You mean Australia doesn't always look like that?

I am disappointed.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

An Aussie commenter did mention that's a typical Friday for them.

Ann, that's a ferret.

how so, Fred?

The President issued an executive order declaring 12/24 a holiday. I don't know how (or even whether) it affects contractors.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Which means that Scott Brown is going to run for Senate again. Ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous, Bill Weld just moved back. [link]

OMG, the liberal War on Christmas has reached new extremes!

Wait, what?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Yep, the President has loosed the liberal atheist hordes to attack Christmas on its very eve. Diabolical!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

A War on Christmas though is historically part of our Christian heritage. The Puritans HATED Christmas and outlawed it in the colonies. [link]

Well into the 18th century, those who attempted to keep the tradition of wassailing alive in New England often found themselves arrested and fined. Indeed, the Puritan War on Christmas lasted up to 1870, when Christmas became a legally recognized federal holiday. Until then, men and women were expected to go to work, stores were expected to remain open, and many churches did not even hold religious services.

FTR, it's not a War on Christmas. It's a War on the Dickensian/Victorian style Christmas. (This statement not aimed at Buffistas, but the world in general)

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

omg, mac is gonna be back in 2 hours. I've managed like 5 Christmas cards, and I cleared all the Criminal Minds off the TiVo. Guess I better watch Scandal next, right?

I've also been making gift tags from old Christmas cards - a thing I got from Pinterest. Many cards do not lend themselves to the repurposing - those I am just tossing, because 3 year old cards? don't need those. I think I may keep some favorites and make a Christmas collage to hang over the fireplace.
