Oh and congrats on the retail therapy, Consuela. You've more than earned a splurge.

Thanks, Burrell! I admit I woke up thinking, "WTF! I spent more on those shoes than on my last pair of skis!" They are, however, really beautiful. I hope they're as comfortable as they claim...

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

No, I don't think it is a bad metaphor. It is probably better than using a "dating metaphor" which I have seen used in grantwriting presentations.

Yeah, that.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

YAY shoes! You totally deserve them, Consuela.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I am not doing well at work today. I keep crying and I am not sure lunch is going to stay down.

That reminds me--I got my state tax return yesterday! It's already spent, on last month's car repair credit card charge, but at least I can stop wondering if/how I could pay last month's car repair credit card charge!

Well, I am now boggled at the idea that anyone would think a dating metaphor was a good one for grant writing. I mean, yes, you need to find a good match, and, okay, I would be more likely to date people who can spell (but then, see my actual husband, who can't), and eventually you just go to a bad place which involves getting into a foundation's pants, and NO.

Edit: bad place, not bed place. Hellooo, Freud.

Because books.

I am not doing well at work today.

Can you take a walk for a little while? Get some air?

I'm sorry your job is so horrible.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

A walk seems like a good call.

Well, I am now boggled at the idea that anyone would think a dating metaphor was a good one for grant writing.

As I "learned" at work just the other day, working with foundations is more like dating with an eye on marriage, while corporate sponsors are more like one-night stands.
