The thing that gets me about examples like Michelle Shocked is that she got her own self into this mess. It wasn't like she was responding to an emerging situation. No one asked her to yell out homophobic remarks, unprompted, at a concert.
Will we soon hear about a rehab visit, I wonder?

I'm unpleasantly surprised that Michelle Shocked went off on a homophobic rant at all. Doing so in a traditionally LGBT-friendly city adds a shovel full of stupid to the bigotry. If it had to happen at all, I wish it had been someone whose music I liked less.
