Hey y'all. I'm still not a pope.
So, whirlwind work trip. Got home a bit after midnight last night/this morning. Was up early to feed CJ and get him to the karate headquarters in Denver for his black belt test. Then I went down the street to Starbucks to work on my hell project.
CJ's test lasted about 8 hours. He came home, took a shower, ate, and is already asleep. He is supposed to do a 12 hour ride along with the fire department tomorrow.
Me, I'm still working. I'm basically done, just need to upload this stupid file and it keeps erring out. I'm going to give it one more shot and then...I don't know what. I am exhausted between the travel and stress over this project. I told my PM I want a pony when this is over.
Gah, just realized in my addled ramblings I missed - my boy earned his BLACK BELT. Yes, I have posted pictures all over facebook and text-spammed the family. He worked so hard to get here. I'm so very proud of him.
They also have, just through tomorrow, an ice cream float called the Dublin Honey made with the stout ice cream, Valhrona chocolate sauce, and 10-year-old tawny port
You need to go eat that on my behalf.

That ice cream looks delicious JZ. My local ice cream place had a Guiness chocolate flavor that was fantastic. Who knew Guiness made good ice cream?
Files are finally sent. I'm shutting down my work stuff. Hopefully I can just fall asleep.
fb freaks me out. Via the postings of a former college acquaintance who lives here and with whom I just reconnected, I deduced the reason that the neighbor 3 doors down walked away from his house a couple years ago. Smalltimore!
That ice cream does sound delicious. Though mostly because anything cold sounds delicious to my currently fevered skin. Despite aloe and NSAIDs.
Also sadly, though the pizza was delicious when we finally tracked the guy down (directions of "turn right after the hair salon and left after the horses" apparently weren't clear enough) the DVD player is broken, so no more Justified for us--I think we watched the first three episodes the other night?

I got a text message from a former student today. She told me she was accepted into Teach for America and is going to be teaching at a middle school in San Jose. Then she told me she wanted to go into teaching because of me. It was super sweet. She was in my first AP class and was super awesome. Her students will be lucky. It's the first student I know of who is going into teaching.
