Art Crawl!!!

Darn those kids. . .it's like they've got free will or something.

Because books.

In wow-I-need-to-catch-up-more news, I got through the second episode of S2 Downton and good god, Mary and Carson just kill me. It makes me a bit sad for her father, but at the same time, Carson so clearly adores her and considers her the daughter he never had, it's just lovely.

Also, hey, it's Ser Jorah!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Dylan is a tall 5 year-old and he's sitting at our dining room table now sans booster, and the table hits him an inch or so below armpit level. He is not missing any teeth.

(His birthday is June so he's smack in the middle of the kindergarten age range, but since his baby teeth came in so late I expect he'll lose them late as well.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The booster seat isn't in the story, I just wanted to be sure I could have her not in one without losing plausibility.

Man, my adult teeth came in pretty early, but I had a relatively compressed period of tooth loss--five would be way early--if kids start that early, when are their teeth fully swapped over?

I know jackshit about "real" kids--I need to make sure whichever reference I choose from the internet (and that does sound creepy to me too) is sensible.

Amy can testify from my period of drawing Weechesters that they all blend together for me in terms of sizes...

Playing more or less the same plot, if you think about it.

Oh, thanks! This is very helpful.

information libertarian

Casper is 9.5 and has only 4 baby teeth left, and those are all loose. According to her orthodontist, she's at the young end for this stage. She lost her first tooth at 5 and lost them steadily through about 7, then had a long hiatus before losing 8 in the last 9 months. (All 8 incisors go first, then a break, then the 12 premolars and canines.)

Well, I only just met him, and I did see him being slimy with Lavinia, and possibly blackmailing her?, which seems less Ser Jorah-like than I know about but I've only seen the first two seasons of Game of Thrones, too, so that's as far as my frame of reference extends.

He looks good in tweed, though.

I just went for a four mile walk. Since I don't think I absolutely need anything from Target today, I think I'm going to throw the sheets in the laundry and catch up on some TV.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

I thought I was going to start watching Season 3 of Downton Abbey today, but I hadn't realized that PBS only has teasers on the website, not full episodes. Hrmph.

I slept 10 hours last night. God, I needed that.
