In updated non-pope!Suzi news, I am now in San Francisco. In a Starbucks to be exact, trying to transfer a file that wouldn't transfer over the airplane wi-fi. I'm so frustrated with this project (though it may be the key to me advancing a grade level) that I'm requesting some file-upload~ma.
Work is eating me from the bottom up. I had hoped to take tomorrow off to visit folks and old haunts, but I know I'm going to need to put in at least a half day and be a bitch about taking the other half off.
Thank heavens for the Buffistas for some sane (and insane) pope news.
Uh huh. That's just what
Pope
Suzi would say, now isn't it?
Snarl - upload attempt 1 failed. Trying again.
As much as I love living in Colorado now, I am definitely having a sense of "my people" now that I'm back in the Bay Area. Ahhhhh.
Is dinner still happening, Suzi?
Hug people for me, if so.
pontifical autonomenclature
Wow. Nice!
I've got nothing to add to the papal discussion (raised Southern Baptist) but as usual the most interesting information is here.
I don't think so. He's not looking for anything. Just rubbing all over it and the cabinets and windowsill and Shoving Things Off. Like a giant makeout session.
Puppycat does this. Annoying as hell. Rub all the things and knock anything down that she can.
subtle
Not really the Catholic church's strong suit.
I think of the actually possible candidates, they could have done a lot worse today. Which I expected when we got white smoke so soon. But maybe his more recent past and pontifical autonomenclature signals a better direction.
Also my uncle sent me a picture of his face Photoshopped onto new!Pope's body.
I need to tear out a grass shrub because it's a bad species to grow out here. Except I keep popping outside to see if I can see the comet and have, "That's invasive!" going through my head to the beat of, "That's racist!" I'm sort of ready for this brainworm to be over.
I had no luck trying to see the comet, but the crescent moon is pretty. As are the clouds that are probably in the way of my comet viewing. So it goes.
The moon is gorgeous. I don't even see clouds messing with my view but I also don't see a comet. Stars are pretty gorgeous too. And there's a whole different set of them out the front door. I usually look from the backyard because it seems more private and less likely to have other people in it. Because there is a fence.
I wish I could see the comet though. I like things hurtling through space.
There was a guy who couldn't see the comet but took a picture of the moon anyway. But the comet did show up fine in the picture. He thought his camera picked up infrared light from the comet.
