Buffy? I like that. That girl's so hot, she's buffy.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Consider it a retainer for future legal advice, Cash?

Now tagless for your comfort.

Absolutely. She's proven her weight in gold. Plus, she was worried she wouldn't be able to get through online.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Emmett's taking the SATs right now, and I'm tucked away in a corner of Cafe Trieste in Berkeley putting away a quiche.

We got to Berkeley High (the test site) early so I got to see the gaggles of teens arriving all gangly and zitty and brace-faced and cute. For as much as teens are characterized as angsty and emo, they were all smiley and social and chattering.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I figure I can't have been the only person who had fun in high school.

When I was in Pasadena for training a couple weeks ago, the bar was being administered (what's the right verb?) on the second day, and I got to see the crowds of potential future lawyers of California, and....Suits is set in New York. I'm assuming that explains everything, because it's clearly true. (Seriously, how long can you pretend to have gone to a school you didn't go to? I enjoy the show, but the founding premise gets weaker and weaker...)

Go Emmett!

I made my bed, which may not sound like much but meant putting away stuff, dislodging cats and all that.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Re: the where do people get new music discussion - I am mildly embarrassed to report that I download many of the free tracks Starbucks gives away through their app.

I am awake (and have been for over an hour) watching the Georgetown game. Fun! But there's no food in the house, so I'm starting to get hungry. And it's a gorgeous day out, so I should really be prepared to go outside and enjoy that, once the game is over.

Our wings are not tired.

Go Emmett!

Have a terrific trip, Jesse!!

I don't think you should be embarrassed at ALL, -t; that's a perfectly cromulent way to be exposed to new music!!

Because books.

Happy travels, Jesse!

-t, I've found a bunch of things on Noisetrade, and even in the Amazon free songs. No shame in that.

I listen to the radio in the car, and I've found so many songs and sometimes artists through TV commercials, too.

Does anybody know if you can wash a Bedbuddy heating beanbag thingie? I seem to remember that they may actually be filled with beans, which does seem to rather recommend against putting it in the washer....
