I have got to say, aside from the normal reasons you like a fandom shirt, the Community shirt is refreshingly designed and makes me want more V necks. And the arm stripes are cool too. They're cut small, if that tempts you, but they're just nifty.

It did occur to me on Saturday that of course people are figuring I'm a community college grad, but whatever. The receptionist at the barber caught the Greendale ref, and I figure one hit is ratings appropriate. The rest of the time, I'm just cooler than everyone else.

But how to convince everyone else to start making v-neck shirts? I will be the Sebastian Roche of all fandoms, if that's what it takes (Jared Padalecki is insufficiently committed to the vee for this).

Now, if I can find my sister similarly cool Breaking Bad and Walking Dead shirts in the next six months, I've got at least that part of her gift taken care of...

I wore that shirt last week, and my dad complimented me on it and then asked what the college had to do with me since he doesn't watch Community. I tried to keep my explanation from getting too detailed, I'm not sure if I succeeded.

Part of the appeal is just having "Go Human Beings" emblazoned on my chest. It's a nice sentiment even without context, I think.

So that was really embarrassing. And funny. I promised to be better about picking up my mail on a much more regular basis. Clearly I'm totally the problem child on his route. I also picked up my mail before going in tonight.

Switched at Birth has been watched. The music really guided you. I'm not fluent in ASL, I just know the basics. I feel like most of the regular episodes are more signed English than ASL and this one had more ASL. Hil, what was your take?

It really depends on the character. Most of the hearing characters usually sign and speak at the same time, so they sign the important words in the sentences without much regard for grammar. Bay has been getting better at using ASL in the last several episodes. When there are conversations between Daphne and Emmett, or between any of the Deaf characters without a hearing character in the scene, it's generally been ASL, at least as far as I could see.

This weekend I bought a $30 pair of computer speakers at Best Buy, and yesterday I installed them... and they work GREAT, at least if you're sitting at the desk, which is pretty much the only way I play them.

Which means I can get rid of the stereo receiver and two large speakers that take up a great deal of room, which frees up a huge swatch of space... and I have a feeling I'm going to have a completely rearranged study by the time I'm done. Huh.
