And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

My post was in response to

Are you now going to Disney World?

I'm jealous!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Tell me that doesn't mean you have to go through all this damn application and interview bs again in April, Consuela. I'm glad your contract got extended, anyway!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Congrats, Suzi!

I am being yanked around by so many cords right now. I feel I'm in a position where if I were canny, I could capitalise on a lot of shit, careerwise.

Hmm...instead I'm the person who gets left off the team invite for the pub goodbye for the departing contractor, and who someone else approaches after the big meeting to look at my doodles closer up. And the CIO was looking right at me for most of it. But she would also have seen me take three pages of notes (aka two and half pages more than anyone else), so I don't feel in any way bad about having drawn her hair.

Well, mostly.

Man, I have such gaps in my cultural awareness

Not knowing Sayers is not a sign of a weak knowledge base. It's pretty niche.

I just sent incompetent developer an email asking her to send replies to my meeting invitations. Seriously, I will never understand you people who think it's not important. How am I supposed to plan without that information?

brillig

regarding the Alcott love--do you read the abridged or unabridged? I loved Little Women until I read the unabridged and found myself slogging through all the preaching.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I'd love to hit Disney World - but 4% isn't going to cover that. Bummer! I even have family near there.

I'm going to have the doc check my knee. Today it is just throbbing.

Well, not here, anyway. I'm done with applying for this job. If they don't hire me, I go back into the private sector, at least for a while. I do get the sense that many consulting firms are less stressful than my old job, so maybe it won't be so bad.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Teppy, come back! We're not done with the scene yet!

Sorry! I actually made good on my promise and went to the gym.

I grew up reading what was apparently the abridged version, which I didn't realize until I was in college and didn't have it with me and bought an unabridged copy. I was confused by all the stuff I didn't remember from reading it as a kid.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

A co-worker accused me of toeing the company line in order to rebel, I guess, unlike him who just rebel rebels. It was weird--we were asked to wear business formal because of guests, and I did (stooge) by wearing a tie (hipster), whereas him just wearing jeans was the apparent right answer.

I don't know how to explain to him that I wear ties because I like them and I can't think of a good reason not to if we're asked to meet a dress code, and it's no skin off my nose meeting a dress code. More than a couple guys have said "But now you know why we hate them, right?"

Clearly wearing both heels and panty hose would be beyond these men, if this is such a massive problem. It's really not a big deal once it's on, and putting it on gets easier every time, even the Windsor knot. Don't make me call your entire gender whiners.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

As I wait for the day to end, I have been planning day 1 at Disney World. Our travel lady provides suggested itineraries, but I have been adjusting it. FUNFUN FUN.
