I'm using my dad's ThinkPad temporarily, and I'd forgotten how to use the nub at first. It's actually a really sturdy little machine, though.
OKTHANKGOD. The new director thought my work last night was "fantastic".
Yay!
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

You guys, I've been eating Cobb salads with no avoacados all week since the ones I bought hadn't ripened yet, and today I'm finally eating one WITH avocado in it, and it is SO MUCH BETTER.
Is there like an avocado CSA program where I can buy a timeshare in someone's Southern California backyard and they send me avocados?
I mean, when you don't know someone well enough to know what they like, and don't know the project well enough to be a subject matter expert, all I can think of is the projects on which I failed to impress.
You're very impressive.

THAT IS A BRILLIANT IDEA.
Hey! VAWA finally passed!
Does it include the provisions allowing Tribal authorities to prosecute non-Native offenders?
t follows link And it does, apparently. Yay.
Yay on VAWA~ Yay for ita !'s innate impressiveness being recognized!
And yay for me, finally figuring out how to turn off the little tracking nubby thing (which is actually called a "pointing stick", wtf).
So how is a tablet with a detachable keyboard that I never take off different from/better than a laptop/netbook? Serious question; I have two tablets, that I never use, and I've never gotten keyboards for them, because I never use them. But if they had keyboards, I might use them.
Yay VAWA.
I just realized why I've been eating fewer avocados since I moved here -- I no longer have a fruit stand where I know the guy keeps perfect avocados under the counter, and I'm a terrible planner.

For me it would be that I can fold the keyboard away and just use it as a tablet if I plan to read a book or watch some Netflix or just web surf non-interactive sites like NYTimes or something. And only whip out the keyboard here or DW or FB or whatever
The big difference between a tablet with a detachable (but always attached) keyboard is that it runs iOS or Android, so lightweight and optimised for mobile, that it's small and likely gives up some connectivity options like wired ethernet and any drives, and is therefore lighter than any laptop and many netbooks, and that it has a touchscreen, which your laptop probably doesn't have, which sometimes is exactly how I want to navigate the world (and sometimes not). Battery life depends on your hardware--the Asus Transformer is nutso excellent. I've run out of juice once.
The apps are different, what it's optimised for is different--it doesn't replace a laptop, but some of the things you were doing with your laptop you can as simply do with that. And if you want to toss your laptop in your handbag, you probably can't.
Okay, I've got to go back for my second meeting of the day with impressed director--and it's not my last.
Where is my tea???
