Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's really exciting Dana. Of course, last time I visited you it was in Houston, so this is just the universe correcting itself.

Great, now I'm having terminology anxiety. Fit/gap analysis--is that IT exec only, or general exec?

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

The telecommuting talk with my manager did not go well, so I am looking at jobs in Houston. Which is killing my soul.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

That's too bad, Dana. I hope you find something great.

I am backing up! Backing up is happening now! Whoot.

Ah...(Radio Free) Vestible joke callback: Beethoven backing up his truck. 20-odd years later, and it seems NOT GETTING OLD YET.

I wish they had jokes that one could tell, though. Thank god everything's pirated onto the web.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Woot! I'm typing this on my new Chromebook. It works!

In other fun news, we got a visit from FAQ!Wife tonight. So fun to see her, and unexpected.

Also: Emmett blasted a triple in his first game of the season, a long shot into the right field corner. Excellent opposite field power. And the team won.

But mostly - cheap cool little computer!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So I finally figured out how to autopay my utilities at my new apartment...that I've been in for six months. And feel dumb because I missed the one thing to click on on the website, but anyway, at least that's done!

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, triple fun good news from Hec! I like it.

Any advice or sage words? I am going to call our vet tomorrow morning and see what they say, but I thought I'd check the hivemind.

In my limited experience with elderly cats my concern would be the disorienting effect with moving to a new environment. We had an elderly cat that was blind and fortunately when we moved the new owner of the house agreed to let him stay there where he knew his yard and surroundings. Any move for a cat seems to involve a much more dramatic adjustment than with dogs. Certainly the vet will have better advice, but just tossing that out there.

Autopay is a beautiful thing. Yes, from time to time I screw up and get an overdraft fee, but it is more than made up with not getting late fees because I have spaced out and not paid something. Actually, my sister pays my bills for me because of said flakiness, but I still set up everything in autopay where possible and she just has to make sure they get covered and recorded.

I definitely can't be trusted to pay a bill on my own.
